Hopefully the Prairieville location closes and something better takes the space. It is a nice area but damn it sucks

Too big of a space. Most of the recent and future trends lend to food trucks and smaller type casual restaurants. Maybe I’m wrong, but that model of large restaurants seems like a thing of the past.

Sammy's in Prairieville has sucked from day one. Worst management in the chain. They stay open due to old reputation and lack of options out here.

I thought this was going to be a tread about the "Sammy's On the Island" strip club in Ft Walton.

Went into the Highland location with a group tonight (not my choice) and there was no heat running in the place and they had cut sheet paper menus. The group noticed we had different menu versions at the table and when the waiter was asked about it, he knew which was correct because one of them had multiple items on it that they "don't have anymore because the menu's being updated."

That’s how long it’s been since I’ve gone to Sammy’s, and how I for sure know it’s finished, they have a male server now. In the Highland Sammy’s heyday, they only had extremely pretty servers, and even prettier bartenders. Back in the 90’s/early 00’s, regulars would’ve rioted if a dude waited on them.

We made reservations for a manager social at Creole Cabana for last night. We get there and we are the only people there and it was not open for business.

They gave us a limited drink menu and then told us that they had only a limited food menu as well because “This is the only food we have left to cook”! Sounds appetizing huh?

We were like I don’t think so and left.

They are a Sammy’s owned restaurant and the waiter said they are closing after the holidays. They are staying open with limited staff to deal with the Christmas parties they have committed too which is admirable I guess, but without the full menus or staff they might be doing more harm than good.

Sad to see.

We relocated to Roux 61 and the place was packed on a Tuesday night. Glad they doing well.

Bump for the report Brittany Weiss just gave.

Sammys not paying the employees. Look like they are circling the bowl and damn near done.

Negative. It just aired on Channel 2. Let me see if I can link it from their website w/o screwing it up.

This is why a restaurant cuts ties and abruptly closes without giving employees notice. When a restaurant closes and employees didn’t know, everyone wants to blame the restaurant for not giving employees notice. Well, if they would give notice, the employees would be working for 2 weeks and I sure if their check will clear. Remember this next time someone complains about a closing.

Highland road not far behind them. Went not long ago and that food was terrible, hardly any liquor behind the bar and the paper menus. Watched 4 sets of people walk in and then walk out after seeing the paper menus.

Guessing the paper menus means they are just cooking whatever is left in the freezer?

That’s what I’m thinking. Sad to see how far it has gone down.
