Can you guys give me a good recipe for a top notch Margarita?

I don't like sweet Margarita's like you get with the nasty mix and I've failed trying to hit a good one.

I've searched different recipes online and they are all over the place the ingredients.

TIA

2oz silver tequila
3/4oz Triple Sec or equivalent. I use O3
1oz fresh lime juice

Pour in a shaker over ice. Shake and strain over crushed ice.

Not what you're really asking for, but I've been drinking tequila with Simply limeade and its great.

This, but I add a touch of agave nectar

I like O3 over triple sec too. It's closer to Cointreau than Triple Sec because it's 80 proof, and much cheaper.

1 shot of water
1/2 lime juiced.

On the rocks.

Tequila
Triple Sec
Lime (Edited to say: FRESH LIME. I realized it wasn't implied.)

Sour mix is an abomination and should never darken the rim of a proper margarita.

You can add some agave for sweetness, or also a floater of Grand Marnier.

imma be real with you. doing keto so sugar is a no-no. my recipe is as simple as you can get and foolproof.

- unsweetened natural key lime juice (in the organic food section)
- tequilla
- salt rim (gotta have this!)
- sprite zero

i love a good archer cointreau marg but that makes a nicely balanced non-sweet marg that is super smooth even w/ the sprite zero added.

plus its alcoholic friendly because you can make it in 15 seconds.

Tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
FRESH lime juice. FRESH, I said
Cointreau/Triple Sec/Orange Curacao
Agave Nectar
Salt
Ice

Stay away from margarita mixes at the store.

It’s amazing how many answers you will get to this question but I have the perfect margarita recipe after many years of searching. Trout’s is the closest to my recipe.

1.5 oz tequila (Fortaleza Repasado)
1oz freshly squeezed lime juice
3/4 oz orange Curaçao
1/2 oz agave syrup

Shake with ice 25-30 sec. strain into salt rimmed coupe.

We usually do the Archer suggestion:

2 parts tequila
1 part Cointreau
1 part lime juice

Gotta be careful with those though, because they will sneak up on you

I love this margarita.

I've made it without the egg white and simple syrup, and it's just as good. I don't need sweet, and the egg white kind of weirds me out.

Clayton's Margarita

quote:

INGREDIENTS
1 cup Good Tequila (Clayton likes Casamigos, you can do a little less if you don't want it as strong)
1/4 cup cointreau
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup of Simple Syrup
1 teaspoon egg whites (fresh or out of the carton is fine!)
Tajin, for serving (a sprinkle of kosher salt is okay if you don't have tajin)

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine in a blender, and let roar!!!!!!
Pour over a glass filled with ice and top with a dash of tajin or a sprinkle of kosher salt.
Enjoy!

NOTES
Clayton says he never stores his batch of margaritas in the fridge, as they tend to get tarte in the fridge. He leaves on the counter while people serve up their own glasses.

And Cointreau is overrated. O3 tastes better and it's half the price.

OP any recipe using agave is going to be too sweet for you considering that's not what you like. Try my recipe. I promise it'll be great.
