How often would you say you and your family eat out at restaurants?
About 50-50 dining out vs. cooking. It is just us two, so isn't a big family outing, which I can see being tiresome.

Do you prefer eating out versus cooking at home?
Love both.

Do you thinking it can be addicting and detrimental to your budget to eat out too much?
We are fortunate that it doesn't make a difference. If it did, and it used to, we would eat out a lot less.
We don't do takeout much, however.

We have two kids, 5 and 2, so not very often. We may grab takeout once per week or so. I also enjoy cooking, so most nights/weekends I don’t mind cooking at all.

But I’m a realtor and on the go a lot. I did over 500 showings last year, am already past that again this year.
My wife and I grab takeout once a week. Go out to eat dinner twice a month and I eat lunch out 1-2 times a week.

All the time now since it’s way cheaper than grocery shopping and cooking at home.

The idea of dressing up, driving to a restaurant, wait for a seat, make small talk with the waiter, more waiting, and forced tipping for mediocre service is not appealing.
I feel sorry for wherever you live or your bad choices.

Covid seemed to kill my eating out. The restaurants all opened back up, but I never really started going back.

Two to three times a week. I prefer cooking something at home.

Once every 2-3 weeks.
Before Covid/Marriage, 2-3x a week

I love to cook and prefer to make our meals, so the wife and I probably only eat at restaurants a dozen or so times a year.
We also don't really go for fast food much, so that only happens 4-5 times a year. She got Popeye's Chicken about 2 months ago and that was the last time we had fast food.

We eat out once or twice a week. This doesn't count lunches during the week. Lunches I generally eat out 2-3 times a week and try to bring something from home the other days.
My wife and I both love to cook, but do most of our cooking on the weekend. It was be a hassle during the week to cook after getting off work.

What you didn’t like being told to wear your mask to the table but you could take it off to eat? But don’t forget to put your mask back on before you stand up from your table to leave

I eat lunch at a restaurant with colleagues 4 or 5 times a week. No fast food.
Wife and I usually eat lunch out on Saturday.
90% of other meals are cooked at home or leftovers of same.

Seven days a week for lunch (both wife and me, mostly separately between working). Typically 3-4 nights a week for dinner. Unless we are having a dinner party with friends, I can't remember that last Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night that we had dinner at home outside of the 3-4 week Covid shutdown last year.

Had a 1/2 oyster 1/2 shrimp po boy at The Galley in old metry tonight. $21.99 was their market price. Still absolutely delicious but yeah it’s getting a bit pricey to eat out.

Used to be twice a week, not counting cheap lunches, but it is dwindling, it's not just the money, it I can't think of a place I want to go. It's usually a minimum of $50-$60, for half I that I can buy a great steak or piece of fish and cook at home better than a restaurant.

Pretty much every day.
I have a meat breakfast at a local diner every morning and a hot drink to wash it down.
I usually have dinner out as well. I do spend a lot on meals but I justify/lie to myself that I'm more productive when I eat out.
