We must buy different beers. The American beers I buy cost a lot more than all of those non-American beers in the OP's post.

To the OP, GTFO. How about you show the gains made by American owned and brewed beers instead of losses by non-American owned crap beers.

ETA: I stand by my opinion that America makes the best beers in the world. Without a doubt.

You've obviously never tried many beers.

I'm going to make the same assumption of you. I have tried hundreds of beers the world over and speak from experience.

ETA: Your post history says your go to beers are

Killians and Newcastle, most definitely.

I call your bluff. Both beers are mediocre at best. New Castle is decent if it's not skunked and Killian's is alright if there's nothing else. You know what my go-to beer is? Anchor Steam. A truly unique American beer.

Epic fail. Only one of those is American. I'm sipping on a lazy magnolia Indian summer myself.

I drink American beer, but none of the ones on your list.

I drink Firestone (Double Barrell Ale, Oatmeal Stout and Pale Ale), Rogue (several), Stone (several) North Coast Brewing Company, and even a Sam Adams or two, especially the Octoberfest.

Allagash and Ommegang do a good job on Belgian Styles. You should check them out.

No, it's owned by a Belgian company. So, not really far off.

And Miller is owned by a London-based company.

There are some American breweries that do fantastic Belgian-style ales... like Ommegang which just came into the Louisiana market.

Beer, yes. Anything on that list, no. Beer snob here

I drink mostly American other than Stella, Guinness and Pilsner Urquel.

But the American I drink is usually Sweetwater, Sierra Nevada, Terrapin, Abita, etc.

American beer is largely much more interesting than imports unless you are into the Belgians, which I am not.

I am really a pseudo beer snob though. I thoroughly enjoyed a $2.00 PBR draft with a slice of pizza last night.

Or if you can afford to drink a lot of Mikkeller, BrewDog, and a few others we can get like Nogne O or Epic. They do some really interesting stuff but it costs a fortune.

Try this brewery. I like the Rare Vos, it is in my rotation and made in USA.
Ommegang Brewery in New York State

I buy this along with Duvel and Maredsous.

I wonder how much of this is due to the big boys buying out some of the craft brewers and pushing those products?
In addition to buying out some of the good sized brewers, there are some unique partnerships being formed with the big boys in regards to distribution, etc.
Don't worry, the big three are getting there money one way or another.

I drink a lot of American beer, but its craft beer. I'm not into the light beer thing, just don't see the point. I drink beer because I enjoy the flavor (which light beers for the most part don't have).

That article mentions this:
"they have lost sales to lower-calorie products, as well as imports and craft beers."

That's why the sales are dropping. Craft beer in America is gaining ground every year. People are looking for better beer now.

Damn straight the best beer is made in America. If you can't find something from Sierra Nevada, Stone, Rogue, St Arnold, Bear Republic, Flying Dog, Anchor Steam, Abita, etc. that you absolutely love, well then you just dont like beer. I was an import guy in the past. Chimay and Delerium were my go to beers. Drank a lot dunkels also. I just feel that the craft beer in this country has caught and surpassed everything foriegn that I've had
