I drink Shiner Bock - from some little podunk town in Texas.

Those are all average beers at best.
All are trends and advertising. Bud Select failed when up against Michelob Ultra. And for Michelob products there is only Ultra now.
MGD was cool back when I was in college but it has been poor for a while now.
Marketing will bring some of these beers back. Look at PBR, which I actually enjoy from time to time. They are trying with original Coors and have tried with Schlitz which flopped. Schlitz tastes like arse.

Thats because most of the people who drank this now drink ultra.

That doesn't surprise me since those are all shitty beers. I drink shiner and Killians and that's about it for US beers. I'll take my Belgian beers all day long

Is there any question to why Anheuser-Busch is a HUGE opponent to craft beers?
Size and strength of beer is a huge battle from them in many markets.

That guy sure hates pilsner style beer. What if I were to write a blog post demeaning people who like "wimpy" flowery ales that taste like fruit juices.

Miller/Coors has a better model for selling craft beer, AB does not. They have opposed it big time in Mississippi.

Actually ill mix in a st Arnold oktoberfest or sierra Nevada every now and then too, but those Belgian abbey ales are my vice. I will drink trappist ales like onmegang as well, but I will not touch anything labelled coors, miller, or bud.

AB is holding on to fraying rope. (Hopefully)
