Drinking $30 Whiskey is a step up from Butt Chugging and I'm ok with that.

I was in a wedding party once where we got the guy a 300 bottle of tequila to sip on.

That stuff was so good I still think about it.

Would I spend 300 dollars for my own bottle? Hell no.

But I at least understand it.

For me, no whiskey has been worth the price jump from like a 60 dollar bottle to 200+

Having a hard time understanding why one would spend $100+ on wasted calories. Especially the whiskey fad crowd. Buying $150 whiskey that tastes like $30 whiskey just because the maker deems it rare.
Could use that for a gym membership and a tub of protein powder to help cut down Louisiana’s obesity epidemic

why not both and only drink 1-2 glasses of whisky a month?

you realize some people can actually afford both right?

Few hundred? Somewhere between $10,000 and $60,000 worth of liquor?

No you don't.

Expensive alcohol to me is $50+. I like to make a big Bourbon and water 90% of the time. If it's a 1 drink type of night, I'll take out my "good" stuff over ice. I have buddy's spending $80-100 per bottle and I just cant understand it. I stay in the $18-$30

I used to purchase somewhat expensive alcohol when I drank. It generally tasted better, and as an added bonus (or a detriment, depending on how you look at it) I wouldn't have nearly as much alcohol on hand as I would have if I had purchased the cheap stuff.

Once I started down the deep well of alcoholism, I began going for the cheap crap - TAAKA, Kentucky Tavern, Mellow Corn... All the cheap stuff. And yes, the cheap stuff tastes like arse. Even to alcoholics.

Due to obvious reasons, I don't drink anymore. But I would recommend spending the extra for the higher quality stuff if you have a proclivity to imbibe once in awhile.

So, just to address your statement, you spend your money to go to a "gym" to do exercise that you easily accomplish by similar means at home for free? Maybe YOU should set those monthly gym dollars aside and buy some decent whiskey.

Vendors give me nice bottles a few times a year. I usually don't spend more than 30 on a bottle.
