You are correct, but Sysco has been used routinely on this board to represent premade food. It’s a mischaracterization and inaccurate and needs to be pointed out.
This is exactly what I’m saying. If this was on the OT then whatever, but this shouldn’t be a food board go to to describe crappy food.

Been to 8 that I recognize. None were bad, only a couple truly memorable.
Thanks for putting us back on topic. I didn’t mean to derail.
This is definitely how I feel. Anecdotally I find that the ones that really play up the fact that they were on DDD are much more likely to be just ok.

One that I know of. T Bone Toms in Kemah, Texas

DDD is an entertainment show. They pick places that will get viewers, not places with the best food. If a place does something unique and interesting, it makes for good tv. I enjoy watching them regardless of how the place really is. I’ve been to a couple and it’s fun seeing the triple D logo on the menu.

Most of the ones I have been to are in the metro Atlanta area, not surprising. Two of note are Matthews Cafeteria and Hankook Taqueria.
Mathews is a very solid, old-style cafeteria. Just good home cooking at a reasonable price. There is nothing fancy in there. If you are ever near Tucker, GA and are hungry for that sort of thing, it's worth a stop.
Hankook Taqueria is worth making a special effort. The blending of Korean and Mexican comes out great, and it's quite reasonable too. Their calamari tacos, bibimbap, and gogi nachos really stand out.

Only 7 for me...all in the Charlotte area.

I’ve only been to two (that I know of), “The Shed” and “Bourrée” in New Orleans.
I've probably been to ten perhaps and that is coincidental. His recommendations are very iffy. Some are good, some are overhyped, some are utter crap.
For example, he said Sunset Point in Fairhope was the best restaurant in Alabama. No way. I like the place, great view, nice folks, solid bar food. No way the best in Alabama.
And I wouldn't feed The Shed to my dog. The Shed is on par with grocery store Lloyds' bbq products and Buc-ee's chopped brisket is far better.

That at the Marina? We ate there Saturday. Had roasted cauliflower and a chimichurri skirt steak. Damn good.

Never been to any. I think the closest places that have been on DDD for me are in Charlotte.
From the discussion, it seems these places aren't all that great. Maybe we go in thinking a bit too highly on some of them.

My wife and I started RVing around the country 15 years ago and always went to DDD places if we could. Stopped counting at 77 places and enjoyed most of them. Still adding to the list every trip.
I've heard of and assumed that many of these places become overcrowded and hard to get into after being highlighted on Triple D.
A buddy was in Portland and went to the donut place from DDD.. said the line was down the street. No thanks..

Has that been an issue with you?

Some are not that great, but Guy never let's on in plain speak, but you can tell if you watch him long enough when he is not impressed one.

It is quite good and I enjoy eating there. I recommend it. I just think Mr. Frosted Tips is full of crap.

Once or twice the waits were longer than usual but for the most part there were pretty standard wait times.
