I dont see what all the fuss is. It is what it is.

Sure its not nearly as cheap as it used to be and quality has been sacrificed a bit, but thats pretty typical with a rapidly expanding company. You cant blame them, the box combo is still a staple and par with the price just about every fast food chain.

I dotn have a problem with the price as much as I have a problem with the chicken being disgusting.

Canes is completely on par with every fast food restaurant. That was the point of the thread. For some reason, it gets shite on more than most. It is the same with Walk Ons. For some reason this board chooses two franchises started in BR to get their rage boner. I dont get it

Maybe places like popeyes, but not every other fast food place.

In your pic, is that the smallest box?

People shite on it because they know what it used to be. People also shite on it because it isn't that good.

Walkons was shite on because the food was not good. They have since improved their food and it's not the punching bag that it used to be, when people are being truthful

That's the other thing.. Why are people expecting cane's prices to be the same that they were 15 years ago?

If the prices stayed the same and the amount of food stayed the same, then there would have to be a drop off in quality of food or some other operational cut.

Even 2002-2005 Cane's. The tenders used to be the length of my hand, now they're the length of my palm.

I'm not related to Trump in anyway.

Also, I'm not saying that Canes should continue to give the same amount at the same price, but when the prices have gone up and the amount has gone down at the same time it makes you feel like you're getting screwed. Maybe part of the appeal of Cane's when I was at LSU was the relative inexpensiveness of it.

Thanks for posting the price chart too. I was also thinking the other day how 10 years ago I could buy 6 huge organic chicken breasts at Whole Foods for $12. Now I'm buying 3 medium sized breasts of the cheap brand and Kroger and it's $10.

In defense of Cane's, Popeye's has the smallest pieces of chicken of all the fried chicken options. It is tasty, but the pieces appear to come from juvenile pigeons.

The biscuit also shrank and they refuse to fill the side containers above the 1/2 mark when they used to be tightly packed.

Better flavor but they too have been hit by shrinking food and increased prices. Same goes for Taco Bell and the incredible shrinking taco.

So it isn't just Cane's.

Yeah it's because these companies know everybody is a cheap arse, and in order to keep prices low they have to shrink the food and/or lower the quality

I havent really noticed the Popeyes changes like you have. All i have noticed is how their service is usually the worst of all fast food places.

This i dont believe at all. I dont think the taco has shrunk at all. The price has gone up though

I think taco bell can still be a good deal if you order certain things

Fast food prices are becoming too high to be convenient. Traveling to Destin last weekend we stopped at Burger King. A Whopper w/cheese meal (small) runs you $8.

If the prices worry you Drink Water. A cup of water over a coke cuts fast food prices considerably.

A Cane's Box is ~6.50 w/ a cup of water.

nice graph. I can tell you this: the chicken farmers used to court Canes. Now canes has to go out and court the chicken farmers. The demand for chicken has gone up so much, the farmers control who buys.

someone on here trolled me into thinking what you described is a menu item. said it was on the "value menu" for like $3. i went and asked for it and felt like a dumbass
