Hatch, NM Green Chile

Once a NM resident for many years and fully addicted, the search for real roasted chile now leaves me in withdrawals. Overnight shipping is too bloody expensive for 30 lbs. at a time
Bottled hot sauce just ain't getting it. Texas style neither. I dont think there's a good solution, beyond rehab.

Several grocery stores near me sell them by the case fresh and roast them on site when they're in season. I'm very far away from New Mexico. Check around.

I think some of the Rouses had them last year.

Albertsons would sell roasted hatches. I think they actually roast them at Alberstons and you buy bags of them.

I used to find boxes of Hatch chiles in grocery stores in ATL in the summer, then roast them at home. I've been in Santa Fe for 4 years and can get them shipped to the house in one day but usually just go to a grocery and have them roast them. I would check this company and if you order early in the season the cost of a box should be pretty cheap and get the ice pack add ons. I see Young Guns chile in grocery stores here, you could check with them to see if they ship.

I order jars from Fresh Chile Co. once in a while. Great stuff.

The green chile bacon cheeseburger at Lucky Bull in Carlsbad with their green chili grits as the side.

Sprouts, Fresh Market, and Harris Teeter (owned by Kroger) all have fresh chiles in season. I can’t recall if Trader Joe’s does as well.
This brand of frozen works in a pinch………..

Robert Grocery in NOLA features them each season.

I’ve seen Whole Foods in Shreveport roasting them out front in August/September. Other locations likely do the same.
Even Kroger will have them fresh that time of year.
