May I have your ideas for a good lunch place in Hammond on a weekday? I’m having lunch with an old roommate from LSU days. Something not too hard to find from the Interstate, please.

Thank you in advance. All of you.

Right off the Interstate you’ve got the iron skillet and a few chain places near the mall. Everything already named is in downtown which is a straight shot and only a couple miles off the Interstate. I second tacos and beer and mariners. The other places are good too

There's a ronnies boudin off of the airport exit (1 mile after Hammond exit on 10) that has pretty good plate lunches. Went there today for lunch and got the rib plate. Reasonable priced.

There's roux and brew on 22 in Ponchatoula that's good as well.

There's also Kate street in Hammond too that's supposed to be good.

Mariners in Hammond is a good choice as well. there's a lot of hidden gems in Hammond to eat.

Cate Street Seafood. Take Exit 40, go north until you are near downtown, look to your right. Can't miss it.

Very good but debatable.

Our Moms is legit one of the best burgers I've ever had, at least my favorite.

Lots of great suggestions so far.

Call Cena to see if they are open for lunch the day you’ll be there. Great food and excellent cocktails. Best establishment in town imho. I think they only serve lunch on Thursday and Friday, but not 100% sure.

But you can’t go wrong with any of the places that have been mentioned.

B&J seafood off the 55/190 exit. Close to the interstate, and some of the best seafood in town at good prices. It's a seafood market that also has a little restaurant.

Le Saigon is great. Would also recommend. Haven't been yet, but their new location looks awesome.
