I worded that post wrong. 'Only' shouldn't have been there.

Besides the one pork dish my only complaint (which is nit picky) is the plating. Every plate is drizzled and polka dotted with sauce. It looks very try hard

Very good food, and I never thought that prices were unreasonable like some. With that said, I agree that there must be something else going on. With their completely revamped 2017 menu, it just makes no sense that they would close on such short notice.

I simply think their expenses were too high to make it. You know the rent wasn't cheap nor was his food costs. It seems like it is the type of place that would need to be packed at all times to make it but they only seemed to be somewhat busy for lunch and weekend nights and pretty slow for week nights. Superior and Curbside both within a mile of them stay busy all of the time so it isn't a location problem.

Small plates also dont do that well here. Beside for Beau Soleil, few places seem to excel with it. Table seems to do good but it hasn't been open all that long. They both have a good bit of options for entrees too.

I enjoyed my first meal at Cocha the other night, so hopefully your small plate theory doesn't hold true. But, perhaps I'm a rarity in my love of small plates. Going to Pamplona is one of the few things I enjoy doing when I go to Lafayette

So much spin in this article. Time with family? Yeh right. If you have to spell out how to pronounce your restaurants name on the menu, you already have a problem.
Food was just okay, service sucked.

I can't say I'm surprised by this. Everything Wadsworth does seams to fail.

We had a great time at Cocha last weekend. Food was great, service was on point, nice decor. I'm rooting for those guys.

I think if they opened a Pamplona in BR, they would crush it. Matter of fact, that would do great in the Gouter spot.

the owner of Gouter posted on Facebook last night that his restaurant was a "smashing success" but he has more important things to attend to.

name of the place was not immediately appealing. My guess is that ain't the only bad business decision

That name was as bad as it gets.

Both the name and the initial review on here where they were serving food on what looked like a piece of corrugated tin kept me away. Guarantee if this place was making money, it would stay open.

Well should we start making a wish list for what we would like to replace it?

I've never eaten at any of his places, but the guy could definitely use the services of a restaurant naming consultant. IPO was the stupidest name I'd ever heard for a restaurant, and Gouter sounds like a swollen neck issue, rather than a place I want to have dinner.

What happened to just putting your name on a place?

Chances this guy is back in the restaurant business in under a year?

I'll say 80%

It wouldn't surprise me, but he is pretty burned out at the moment.

Never did get to eat there. It was closed the few times I considered it. Driving by, the aesthetics of the place looked appealing.

I second the idea of Pamplona branching out in the spot.
