ETA- since the food types are so different - I don’t think it’s really in order - and the kids helped

Dijulios
Ruth’s
Chimes
Superior
La Langiappe

This isn’t a 1-5 list based on favorites but just the constant best BR has.

I don’t have a top 5. I’ll just list my most current rotation.

Zorba’s
Nino’s
French Market Bistro
Rocca’s
La Langiappe

I do Diguilios for Sunday Brunch because it’s easy to get in. I love the place but I’m too old to wait an hour or more for a table. Unless I can get a comfortable seat at the bar.

I hope this doesn't come off a cheap hijack of thread, but a question I always wanted to ask is, would it be fair to say that the restaurant scene in BR is at least respectable?

Nino's
Zorba's
Cocha
Umami
Roberto's (Technically St. Gabriel)

If Roberto's doesn't count, I'd replace it with French Market Bistro.

*In no particular order

It’s absolutely respectable for a city it’s size. The only cities its size or smaller with better food scenes are all major tourist hubs.

BR’s restaurant scene isn’t New Orleans (a world class food destination), but it isn’t just chains either.

Cocha
Umami
Nino's
Zorba's
Roberto's (technically not BR) so insert Solera here if you must.

I wouldn’t call Greenville, SC a major tourist hub and their food scene is better than BR.

It’s respectable but I’d say Jackson has a better food scene than BR

American - Willie’s (Always great food)
Greek / Lebanese - Zorba’s (Hands down)
Italian - Diguilio’s - (If you can get a table)
Tex Mex - Mestizo’s (With a Cuban flair)
Seafood - La Lagniappe (The best around)
Steaks - Ruth’s (Especially if the boss is buying)

Oops, that was 6, but I usually only go to Ruth’s for business. Otherwise, grilling my own.
