Buns are excellent. I always get the double pork chops grilled. Pretty decent actually. Always nicely seasoned and juicy, not dried out like shoe leather.

Green beans are good but I always get grilled vegetables. They don't advertise them grilled but will do it upon request. A server told me about that.

Planning more than a couple hours in advance to go to Texas Roadhouse on a Friday night

But TR is awesome, was always a big fan. A solid chain that consistently delivers, enjoy!

Their prime rib is pretty damn good and my go to. Surprised no one mentioned the PM.

Is that the place with the peanuts?

No, that was Lone Star. They had the custom of throwing the shells on the floor. I haven’t seen that at Texas Roadhouse. They were also better than Texas Roadhouse but they closed down in my area.

But Texas Roadhouse is better than Outback so there’s that.

Texas Roadhouse isn't bad for what it is. You could do much much worse for a Generica restaurant.

Try the roll challenge, see who can eat the most rolls. My son won when we went to one a few years ago, I think he ate 10.

Yeah it’s in the top tier of similarly priced chain joints.

My grandma gets us a gift card there every year so I’m a bit of an expert on it

Not sure if they do it now, but Texas Roadhouse has tossed some peanuts. They were sued at least 3 times by folks who slipped on the shells. With that and all the peanut-allergy kids, those shells are a major liability. They may have moved away from them for that reason.

Texas Roadhouse has been sued at least three times for this messy problem

Agreed.

It's not fine dining but they have plenty of decent options. In fact, that's the best part about these sorts of places. Lots of space (so you don't have to wait in a pinch) and lots of options. These types of places are my travel go to if we don't have the dogs.

Longhorn used to do it too in the early days at least at some locations. Used to go to the original location pretty often but I can’t remember if they did it there first.

I thought of it as a meat and three at the time. Crazy how it’s grown.

Texas Roadhouse is better than quite a few mom and pop restaurants

No prayers for you

Just keep it simple, steak, baked potato and a side salad.

They busy because their food is actually good, and I'm not 1 to support chains.
