Foods that smell better than they actually taste

Happens all the time. Doesn't necessarily have to consist of a food that repulses you, but a food that may smell scrumptious but end up being "meh"
Popcorn - Amazing scent, especially in the mall. But the actual flavor always let's me down.
Coffee - Even the premium brews. They're great, but the smell is even 5x greater.

Amen. I'll get killed for saying this, but roasted turkey always disappoints me (I know deep frying it is the way to go, but my family likes it roasted). Smells amazing, tastes mediocre,

Cinnabon at the airport. Smells fantastic but tastes like sugared cardboard.

Cantaloupe. It doesn't taste bad to me, but I think it smells great

Freshly baked bread. Some breads just taste bland.

I agree with the coffee. I love the smell but can't drink it.

Coffee black I agree. With half and half and honey I enjoy the taste more than smell.
Popcorn, I agree 100%.
For me the answer is basically anything made with cinnamon.

You're not doing it right if your roast turkey is mediocre.

For those who said coffee, you should try a different brewing system if you haven't already. Most coffee I've been given in my life has either been burnt, over-steeped, or both. All of that bitterness you're picking up? It really shouldn't be there.

I made shrimp corn dogs and sausage corn dogs using Alton Brown's recipe and they were delicious. Tasted much better than they smelled.
