Anyone know anything about the beer scene in D.C.? Possibly taking a trip there in the spring

I loved Churchkey. DC Brau and Blue Jacket are breweries to look for. On the Wings of Armageddon is a good DIPA.

It has been years since I've been there, however, so I'm sure there are bigger and better things now. Strange thing about DC, they have some weird shite going on with distribution there. You can find all kinds of stuff sitting on shelves, including some outstanding brews like Hill Farmstead. Just be prepared to pay a premium for it. My friend described it as the craft beer Wild West -- anything goes.

ETA The Double Dry Hopped Commotion has a stamp near the date that indicates it's DDH

It's a good thing my standards are lower than yours, or I'd never drink any beer.

Good info... thanks. It wouldn't be a designated beer trip, but figured if we go I'll seek out some beer in between tourist stuff

SBD- Rum Barrel Gingerbread Stout. My second favorite GBS release after Kentucky Christmas Morning.

The founder of The Veil has a nice pedigree. Former head shift brewer at Alchemist and scored an internship at Cantillon. The place hasn't been open a year but has 1 hour+ lines for some releases.
