I don’t think the one my family purchased for me was near $300. If you want a drink from an expensive bottle it’s worth it.
I just checked. System 3 is $150 on Amazon. Again, if you have expensive bottles it is well worth it.

I really want a Coravin but then I’ve never not finished a bottle..
Sometimes we don’t finish #3 but it’s the cheapest one anyway.

Same here. By myself, I’m gonna drink half a bottle at least. I’ll try to gas it and conserve it so I can drink the next day

It definitely helps preserve wine, but there is some noticeable difference in my opinion. I’ve watched videos and experimented several ways of using it, definitely helps to keep bottle tipped down while opening and pouring, but not perfect.
Also I recommend using Coravin once per cork. And if bottle is in wine fridge forget it, cold corks do not expand fast enough to preserve. Keep a little wood glue to plug the hole

I have not used a Coravin so I can’t comment on those. But I find the vacuum sealer systems do a good job. I think there are two keys. First, pump the hell out of it to draw as much of a vacuum as you can. Second, no matter the varietal, store the opened amd vacuumed bottle in the fridge. The cold dark environment helps to delay the oxidation. If you pull a good vacuum and keep it on the fridge I find that the wine is just about the same for a day or two. Well, at least a day. I don’t know that I’ve ever had one last more than that.

I learned yesterday it’s spelled Sirah. Silly me, I never noticed the different spelling on the bottle. Learn something new every day.

Last time I was in Sonoma, we asked the guy leading us through a tasting what he thought about wine storage and how long it lasts.. and he seemed to be of the mindset that even just a plain ole cork inserted back into the bottle will keep it fine for up to 2 days.
I don't generally buy anything worthy of a Coravin, but I do use the rubber stoppers that come with a manual pump. VacuVin or something like that? I like it well enough.
EDIT - In hindsight, maybe he was using a VacuVin as well and that's what he meant for up to 2 days.

I like most reds, Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir in that order.
I do occasionally drink a Rioja or Malbec too.

If you guys want a simple solution, Repour works well. Read about it, the science is legit if used correctly. Works out to about a buck each and as low maintenance as it gets.
I just left one in a Rivers Marie pinot for about 20 days and it was very good after a short decant.
