Rod's is my favorite but Bourque's and Rabideaux's are also very good

They have it at Rouses in Denham, so maybe try Rouses in BR

Veron’s Supermarket in Lutcher. It’s not the stuff in the stores, this is good shite. I personally love Rabideaux’s, but it’s incredibly smoky when compared to others.

My local grocery carries Best Stop's smoked sausage. It's my go to if I don't have any homemade.

Usually rabideauxs but recently I have tried and liked Cajun family tradition a couple of times and liked it. Some of the Richard family members doing their own thing.

quote:I agree. We have a family of 6, so we put a lot of meat in our red beans. We typically do 1 pack (1.5lbs) of Rabideaux’s venison and pork sausage, 1 pack (1 lb) of Veron’s mild pork sausage or Richard’s mild pork, and 1 lb of Chisesi ham cubes.
I personally love Rabideaux’s, but it’s incredibly smoky when compared to others.
Even with gumbos, I have to just do 1 pack of Rabideaux’s, because I think the smoke overpowers the dish if there’s too much in it.

Get to Rod's in Church Point. /thread
It's good, but many will find it too heavily smoked. It tends to be a little dry too, compared to Bourque's / Rabideaux's.

D&J's grocery is my go to, but I'll use Conecuh doesn't matter as long as it is cooked with the beans, and not thrown on top after

Generally my favorite for everything. Sad day when I run out and have to wait for my next road trip through SW LA

I don’t cook sausage in my red beans, just pickled pork but I always serve sausage as a side. My favorite is Double D hot but I also like Conecuh.

A little off topic but I put smoked hocks in my red beans yesterday and DAMN. Never done this before but I will from now on. Great flavor
