At what point does a poboy become just a sub sandwich?

The roast beef at Melba's is actually pretty good. On sandwich or over rice.

Fried shrimp poboy at Shack 16 in Denham area. Out in the country but a damn good place to grab a bite to eat.

In Metarie I like Short Stop, it was under $13 for a drink, chips and a roast beef last time I went. Its pretty well know though.

In Houma no one has a better roast beef than TARC, its pretty inexpensive too.

I been getting "roast beef" from the Taco Trucks, just order a Beef Torta, they so good and its rare that you get one that isn't really good.

To be fair, the one he is referencing is a deep fried chicken cutlet with melted hot cheddar and bacon on Leidenheimer bread with mayo/tomato/lettuce. Not like cold or shaved chicken on a sub.

But yeah - AM Mart Cajun Turkey is a sub sandwich in my brain.

No idea what my reasoning for that is besides what "feels right".

I must end you for even mentioning Frady's. No one but locals should ever be there.....even some people who live in Bywater are not worthy to pass through the door.

I would mention Radosta's in Old Metairie as well. Nothing bad on the menu.....but I promised myself to never mention that place to outsiders as well.

I always had loved that one and it was great after new owners took it over.
I went 2 or 3 months ago and it was a pretty bad RB poboy. Like no gravy at all. I’m hoping it was a new person working and forgot the gravy.
I plan to go back again soon to find out.

Last two times I’ve had Radosta’s it was complete dogshit. Last time I literally threw away almost an entire RB poboy. Too many reliable places for me to keep that up; I won’t be back for a while.

The setup/ absence of dining seating ruins this place for me.

I think about this a lot.
I think the bread matters most.
I so like some of the newer hoagie spots. But the bread changes the flavor and texture so much.
