8 oz of chicken breast is like 360 calories. Salmon is like 400. Where are the rest of your calories coming from if you only eat 400 calories from lean animal protein coming from?
The chicken breast is 60g of protein, a healthy adult male should be eating at least 1g of protein per lean lb of body mass MINIMUM so where are we making up that protein, unless you are built like a bird?
Where are you making up the protein from the burger patty?

That's not what we're talking about. But to answer the question, I'd eat more of it or another lean protein if I needed a higher protein/lower fat source.
Short answer, animal protein.

It looks like Chicken Salad Chick locations are popping up everywhere in the southeast. Most of their chicken salads are 1-2 g of carbs per serving. Eat with lettuce and you have a very low carb meal.

You responded directly to a quote about the chicken breast being healthier than the burger patty, with a point about the calorie and protein levels of the chicken. The burger patty is less protein and more calories, so comparing the chicken to the burger patty very much is what you are talking about.

okay, so the same thing someone could do eating the chicken. So what exactly is your point, other than showing that chicken is a more efficient source of protein to reach the minimum needed?

I responded to a post that the AMA is an authority on dietary guidelines.

Well of course the chicken is more efficient reaching the minimum protein, but you can reach the minimum with higher fat content animal proteins for nearly everyone, and when eating keto you need the fat content to be in ketosis. So if you get the fat content you need in earlier meals, eat the extremely lean protein to get the proteins without the fats to meet the macronutrient goal.
You are trying to play a gotcha game of "what ifs" that aren't particularly relevant

The original point he said was false was that a burger patty is less healthy than a chicken breast FOR SOMEONE WITH, OR AT RISK FOR, HEART DISEASE.

Here, i'll help you out:

I was only responding to your comment that the statement that a chicken portion isn't more healthy than a Wendy's beef patty
Find a controlled study that proves that it is.

So, you just started talking out of your arse about calories and protein with no connection to the point that you are arguing chicken is not a healthier option than a burger patty?
quote:

That is fine, but that is not an argument to the burger patty being equally as healthy as a chicken breast. There are also better ways of getting fats needed for ketosis than eating a fast food burger patty. With the chicken being more efficient at achieving your protein goals, you have more calories still available to help reach your fat content goals, with better sources of fats. So again, how is a chicken breast not a healthier options than a burger patty from Wendy's?

I mean, the entire post i'm originally responding to is apparently not particularly relevant, even though you posted it, so probably not the best statement for you to be making here.

Yikes. That is even worse. I didn't see that post. I'm clearly wasting my time then.

Chicken isnt "healthier" than beef, they're both used to reach macronutrient goals. For keto, that's going to be high fat.

Such as? Good grass fed beef is loaded with micronutrients and vitamins, some that are hard to get from other sources outside of supplementation.

Word salad saying nothing.

Find a controlled study not funded by the government or after 1980 proving beef is a contributor to heart disease.

My first statement is people are losing weight on low carb diets because not only are they cutting carbs but also cutting calories by not eating bread, pastas, and fried foods they normally would consume in addition to their meal. It makes plenty of sense but I forget who I’m talking to on here.
WRONG.
i can eat a 24oz steak slathered with butter containing thousands of calories and wake up the next morning 3 pounds lighter.
when ketosis is running your body can expell a couple of pounds of fat overnight while you're sleeping.
i get you can't wrap your mind around that and want to continue following a political 'food pyramid' that was never based on anything other than the lobbyist who greased the most palms.

Could be water weight, stomach contents, or any other number of reasons why you lost 3 lbs. I gain and lose 2-3 lbs almost daily. I can promise you you didn’t burn 3 lbs of fat in one night though. Your body does not magically burn 10,500 more calories because you’re in ketosis

This is my first time encountering the keto bros on here. The 1950s food pyramid is their fallback when they stumble in their arguments. Something no one in this thread has cited.
Dude eating 24 oz butter drenched steaks and losing 3 lbs...yeah okay

No one has stumbled. You finally got someone claiming what you said has been said in this thread since page 1, so now you're here taking a victory lap
You ever gonna tell me what's bad about that naturally occurring fat in a Wendy's beef patty? Or show me where anyone suggested to eat nothing but fast food as a healthy diet? Or any of the other bullshite you ran this thread to 9 pages with?
More downvotes with no responses. At least yall know you have nothing to say.

Probably has more to do with weight loss than the steak, don’t you think?
