I had no idea hungryone identifies as female. That poster was very skilled, but had a "know-it-all" type attitude that probably rubbed some people the wrong way. Especially when posting things on the Money Board that were very bad advice. I don't recall anyone being outwardly hostile toward her. If receiving a lot of downvotes is enough to make you leave an internet forum, perhaps you should re-evaluate your life.
And I don't think being a "baw" keeps anyone from being downvoted. SixthAndBaronne is incredibly knowledgeable about food science, yet gets downvoted on every post. Mingo (even though he is a clown) is typically right and he gets downvoted. It's all about how you present your message.

I don’t perceive her as pretentious. She is confident about knowing her subject matter. Sometimes she is blunt and to the point, and she doesn’t suffer fools. I also don’t think she was run off by downvotes. She seems thick skinned, to me.
Also, I never said male, I said baw. Just because some males are downvoted doesn’t negate my theory.

In a sea of stale kracker and cajun ninja mouth breathers, hungryone was a breath of fresh air. A freshly baked Kouign-Amann with a shot of espresso as opposed to a big goateed baw in fishing shirt free basing oatmeal pie blue bell. A certain je ne sais quoi that drew you in with every long post
