In 12 oz it was going to be my go-to golf, fishing, barbecue, crawfish boil, and tailgating beer but not anymore. Imo many/most will almost forced to pour it into a glass as drinking 16oz cans brings associations (brown bags, etc) people want to avoid. Of course keeping it cold will be an issue as well. For me this ruins it as it has less utility than the bottle, which I would drink out of. And what’s the benefit? Status?

It’s only a bad idea because it taste like shite, otherwise all sought after breweries can 16oz

This can be a legit argument.

But not the other stuff you’re arguing.

Evidently the new cans had a huge failure in quality control.

There we go, status. My thought too originally. Maybe I should expand on my thoughts a little to see if there might be something here that is not completely ignorant. In my opinion a 16oz can is best used for beers meant to be poured in a glass, either because the beer is "special" (a bunch of examples but Grace and Grit, Tree House for instance) and/or the character of the beer requires it being poured (I'm thinking of stouts like guinness). These are beers, particularly "special" beers, where you're going to have 1 or 2 and in a setting that a nice glass of wine could easily be substituted. That's where I think this idea of "sought after breweries" canning 16oz probably came from, which really was a practical one because they expected their customers to drink it out of a glass rather than from the can. If Parish were to can Ghost, Opus, or any of their other specialty beers I would hope they would be pint cans because I expect to enjoy those from a proper glass. But Envie? Envie to me is an everyday, session type beer not in either category, and more similar to Commotion, all day IPA, holy roller as well as almost all other canned beers (or bottles) that come in 12oz to be drank mostly out of the can/bottle. Maybe i'm misclassifying Envie

As for my brown bag comment, I didn't need that to make my point and it's not why most people choose to have a 12oz at the crawfish boil, on the boat, in the golf care or at the tailgate.

I don’t know why you are getting so much shite. I agree with you 100%

Envie is an everyday beer and the advantage of a can would be for easy transport and drinking from the can at events or places that don’t allow glass. In that situation I want a 12oz beer so it doesn’t get hot at the end.

Envie isn’t a specialty beer like they think it is, 16 ounces would be good for ghost because I would pour that at home. I’m not bringing 16oz can of ghost on the golf course or the beach
