They're not known for it, but Elsie's has some of the best fried shrimp and fried catfish around.

I've never had a bad meal there, and have been many times.
Like others have said, start off with the crawfish queso. It comes out with cracklins (to dip) still cracklin', as they just fried them in the back!

get the queso with the cracklins.

I hope that’s priced accordingly, if I start on that plus cold beer, I wouldn’t need anything else.

The pesto melt is really good. Add chicken if you like.

And if they have the fried oysters BLT don’t pass it up.

Word, when we last went we ordered a kids shrimp for our 4yr old, he wasn't eating much so we both tried a shrimp and we looked at each other, wow they were amazing, were not expecting that lol

Love Elsie’s, almost anything on the menu is top notch. Maybe the best red beans in town? Pot pies, burgers, breakfast, pies, soup, salad..

And I thought I loved their pimento cheese grits. But, I prefer Calvin’s daughter Kalyn’s pimento at home better, and over Bonnecaze grits, I make it extra cheesy.

Also, Simple Joe’s shrimp & grits nextdoor to Elsie’s is better..maybe the best in town? Like ABE’s,etc..too.

the savory pies are all good, but I have a really hard time not getting the fried chicken and red beans. Its just fantastic.

Most everything I've had there has been great.
