We have been touring CO for the last week and will be in Durango for the next 3 nights. Anybody have a recommendation? We had steak in Ouray last night, so we are looking for something other than that.

BTW… if you’ve never been to Ouray, put it on your list. Never been in a mountain town like it before.

Ouray, Silverton, and Durango

Spent many a year vacationing out there. Absolutely beautiful. Wish I could remember more food spots but I was a lot younger when those trips occurred

I do remember a really good crepe place downtown but can’t recall the name.

College Drive Cafe is a good spot

Happy hour at Steamworks is always a good time. Definitely order the buffalo wings.

Schoolhouse pizza is a good spot if you happen to be near Purgatory.

East by Southwest is surprisingly decent sushi considering the location.

I will second Steamworks. SKA is good too but in an ugly, industrial area. They have a lot of live music and occasional crawfish boils

Just got back last week. Fathers Daughter pizza was excellent. The Pour House was nice and Ore House was a good steakhouse. Oscar’s for breakfast.

El Moro is a good place, Ken and Sue’s is great. Serious Texas bbq for lunch. Get the Texas taco

If in Silverton, go to the Diamond Belle Saloon - not for the food, but to watch Adam Swanson play old ragtime. I've never seen anyone play faster than that guy.

The Diamond Bell is not in Silverton. It is in the Strater Hotel in downtown Durango

Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I want to go back to Ouray… in a helicopter!

We ate there last year and the food was not great and the service was slow but he was good. If you go into the hotel the clerk might show you the secret hiding places in the lobby.
The restaurant is not very big but you can sit at the bar which is behind him.

We went there tonight and it was amazing. Bourbon selection is impressive. Will go back if I find myself here again.

Thanks for correcting. I must either have the wrong guy, or he played in Silverton at one time. It was definitely in Silverton. We took the train up and stayed all day.

Ken and Sue’s has been consistently good, sometimes excellent for the last several years.
