I don't care much for potatoes. I like potatoes that are prepared certain ways, such as au gratin or french fries, but don't care much for baked potatoes.

I'm a rice guy. Pasta is No. 2. No need for potatoes. Lucy is also rice and pasta and never wants potatoes.
We also get our carbs from whole grain sammich rounds. Great with chicken salad.

What's to like? They're bland and ordinary. A feeling of fullness is wasted on potatoes. I'll tolerate potatoes. I don't dislike them. But I don't like them either.

In my opinion potatoes are never the star of a dish. Instead they help deliver the star to the palate, much like pasta.

I don't like baked potatoes because they taste pretty bland

But I like potatoes just about any other way.

I guess. I'm indifferent to them, but that didn't really come through in the post. But baked potatoes are gross.

You only like them when they have lots of fat added. What a surprise

I don't like mashed potatoes. I prefer rice over potatoes. I like twice baked potatoes, but rarely anyone else's but mine. I like a potato in some form with steak, but not always. Fresh cut fries if prepared properly or excellent as are fresh fried chips, but I could live without potatoes easily. Rice is a whole 'nother story.

Put a potato in front of me and I'll eat it. No matter how it's cooked and whatever you put on it. As long as I have salt and pepper I'm good.

Wouldn't change my mind. I've had plenty of versions. Just not my thing. I don't care what they're dressed up with. Just don't care for them. Strange thing is that when I have a stuffed potato, it cannot be lumpy or I don't like it. It's more like mashed, but no mashed alone. I don't care what you add to them. They don't interest me and if you put my protein on top of mashed potatoes, I will rebel.

On the side always. The key to really great mashed potatoes is to oven dry them after boiling them to al dente status. They accept the fat much better that way.
