A few days ago I said to myself "I have nothing to eat, I need to go to the store". I decided not to go, and 3 days later Im still eating fine.

Yesterday for dinner I had 3 eggs, a half of a potato, a can of sweet peas, and a couple slices of bread.

Tonight its a can of black beans, a frozen catfish filet, a cup o ramen, and a can of green beans.

Tomorrow it looks like ill eat my last 3 eggs and cook some rice. I also have some tortillas and cheese in the fridge, and a half bag of shredded lettuce.

I have a few cold cuts as well so I maybe able to go another day after tomorrow.

I don't typically keep much frozen food so its a little easier for me.

Yes. We are completely empty about once a week

No, and there are times I have to talk myself out of going to the store when there is actually plenty of food, if not in the fridge, in the pantry and the freezer.

Fridge gets empty fast.

Freezer and pantry stay pretty full though.

No, never. And between what I have in freezers---yes, plural----canned from my garden and in the pantry from the stores, I really believe I could eat well for 2+ months.

And when I say I, it really means 3 grown adults in the household.

We had a kitchen remodel upcoming that required emptying the kitchen. We went on a mission to eat all the food in the house and not buy anything new (other than milk/bread/perishables).

After a few weeks, we still had to box up a lot of stuff. It assured me that we won't starve if trapped here for a while.

Same. Occasionally I'll decide I need to cook my way through some things but that doesn't last. I end up at the store for perishables then that leads to buying more stuff.

Freezer stays pretty full because we buy all of our meat in bulk and/or its full of wild meat we kill. It might get low right before next fall.

Fridge definitely gets empty by the end of the week. I do all of my grocery shopping on Sunday morning and we eat through everything throughout the week. I don't want fresh items to go to waste, so I expect it to be bare by Saturday.

Don't really eat out of the pantry that much, so its probably more bare than most all the time. A few standard things, but its never really full.

Generally, yes. Toward the end of each week, there isn't too much left.

Also, you need to up your protein intake, OP.

I could live for months and months on the food supply that is in my house at any give time, and yet my wife and I still go to the store every weekend and buy more shite.

When the pandemic first started and we were locked up inside for a few months with very few outings, we ran through a good bit of the stuff we had in the freezer and pantry (but didn't come anywhere close to depleting our entire food supply). All of that has since been replenished. So in answer to your question, no we have never come close to deleting our food supply.

I don’t keep much food at my house besides snacks for kids. If I decide to cook I go to the store and buy what I need.

That said, we eat out the majority of our meals so cooking happens about twice a week

Our pantry and freezer could feed us for weeks. Yet, every time there is a storm threat, my wife thinks we need to go stock up...

I dream of moving into an rv so that the wife will be limited on space to store food. We could live for at least 6 months on what is in the pantry, 3 freezers and 2 fridges.
