New Orleans has been hoisting Dixie beer for more than a century. Soon, that beer and the company behind it will have a new name.

2020 is fricking stupid, no reason for them to change their name nor people to remove everything Dixie, Antebellum, South, etc

A brand surviving on practically name nostalgia alone is about to do a name change and do away with the nostalgia.

Will be sold in the Dome and Pelican games, they can keep afloat just on that plus every bar in New Orleans will push it

My way just shut it down.

They aren’t making artisan beers. It was the local big brand lager.

Haven't had it in years, but if it is anything like the Dixie I remember no one is drinking that shite. As others have said they exist only because of New Orleans nostalgia.

Yep. I made this point in the OT thread. Nobody buys Dixie because they love it or it’s their favorite beer, they buy it as an ode to the past

Changing the name to “Die White People” or whatever they change it to will kill the entire thing. They might as well shut it down

It’s sad because she spent so much on the new place and all, but they will be closed in 6 months. I only give it six months because of her wealth. The beer and brand is done

Yep. I would usually buy a couple a year because “Dixie, my old man would tell me how that used to be one of only a couple beers he could get growing up in Port Allen...”So, it felt good having that connection

When I see “Die Whitey Lager” I don’t think it will have the same effect you know?

Although, Lester earl may stop drinking vodka Red Bull’s at Republic and start drinking beer now
