You must have not been recently. They decorated in there a while back.

We were there in January and commented they needed to spruce up the place.

It’s definitely had a facelift since then. New paint, new decor, cleaned & polished floors, etc.

I'm not hating on the place; I think it's OK. I used to eat there once in a while when I lived in the area. I just don't think it's anything special or worth going out of the way for. Nothing really separates in imo from similar places.

Many times, that’s my go-to meal.

Dempsey’s is one of my favorites. Oh Gugich, had lunch Friday, with some of your wife’s side of the family.

Did the Elsie’s episode air today? I don’t see it anywhere. Anyone know the name of the next 3 episodes in BR?

Watched the episode on Cou-Yon's. I don't recall hearing about this place, but the food looked very good on the show and in Yelp pictures.

Couyons started as a BBQ joint attached to a gas station on Burbank and Gardere.

Burbank and Gardere

No, they had the same name, but they had no affiliation.

Incorrect.

Cou-Yon’s launched in a former gas station at Gardere Lane and Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge, relocating in 2009 to a former Sonic restaurant on North Alexander Avenue in Port Allen.

Thanks I didn’t want to be rude but I was around and friends with those guys around that time. Help them move and relocate equipment.

No problem. Thanks for the correction BigBinBR, I was just repeating what I've read here or some other place in the past.

Mardi gras potato add extra fried shrimp.

Sausage sandwich with raw onion and pickles.

...and I can't believe I'm saying this... The smoked turkey is a must try.

Not that crazy. I think the smoked chicken is their best BBQ plate.
