I have a ton of dill in the herb garden this year. I've used it sparingly before for pickling, but I haven't used it much for cooking.

Any can't-miss uses for this stuff? I was thinking a lemon, caper, dill sauce for fish or chicken?

My mom used to boil some new potatoes, drain, then add in some butter and dill. I haven't had them in years, but they were delicious

Similarly, I've enjoyed dill in egg salad too.

I like to infuse white vinegar with dill and a few sliced hot peppers from the garden and use it in the fall to spritz on kale chips out of the oven or in a bowl of greens.

Dill with salmon is pretty classic

Also you can make tzatziki and throw it in there.

I love dill, one of my favorite herbs. One year I had a big crop and I was doing business with this Swedish chemical engineer who worked for one of the big plants. I invited him to a crawfish boil at my house and when he saw all the dill he convinced me to cook some the Swedish way.

This was about 35 years ago, so I don't remember all of what we did, but we took about 10 lbs and steamed them on a bed of dill. He was very happy with the results, but apparently Swedish crawfish are much cleaner than our mudbugs. They were interesting, dipped in a dill cream sauce, but I never did it again.

I chop it up and use it in pasta salad. Also use it for picking eggs. Dill is good stuff.

I'll echo the dill, vinegar, and cucumber message but I will add throw in some smoked paprika and some white pepper to take it to the next level.

That dill and vinegar combo is the tits.

Dill is a staple in my chicken salads. It's the only thing I ever use it for actually.

I'm due to make some chicken salad. I'll pick up a couple of rotisserie birds and make some this weekend.

Thanks!

That is exactly what started us doing it at our house - a trip to Commander's Palace.
