Crawfish Water Hose Question

Do any of y'all use special (drinking water safe) water hoses when cooking crawfish? If so, what kind? I usually just carry water out from my kitchen sink, but we will be boiling a lot for a boil next weekend, so that isn't an option. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but water hoses are not regulated for drinking safety. There's all kinds of shite in them that you're not supposed to drink, and yes, I know we did it as kids. I'm going to have a few pregnant girls at the boil, and I want to be considerate. Plus, I'm crazy.

Have always used any water hose around. Boiling kills all kinds a shite.

Water boils at 212 degrees it will kill any bad bugs.

Boiling doesn't kill lead. It's not bacteria I'm worried about.

if you're so worried about it, go buy a $10-20 drinking water safe hose.

Supplier of water to your house have standards that have to be met. Many test are done to assure this. Unless you have a well or house plumbing is substandard all is ok.

In my whole life I have never heard of anyone ever hauling water from the kitchen like a third world woman to fill up a crawfish pot.

The water to the house is fine. The water hoses are not regulated by drinking water standards. About 30% of water hoses have unsafe lead levels. Anyway, I don't want my kids eating crawfish boiled in water full of lead. We boil them pretty often.

You carry 50qts of water from the kitchen to boil crawfish? Holy shite.
I'll say that in my 38 years on this earth and 20 years I've been boiling crawfish I've never heard of anyone worrying about the type of hose used to fill the pot. There's a shite load of Cajuns that have ingested enough lead to sink an aircraft carrier.

so, you are not worried about the rice field the crawfish were raised in ( that was probably duck hunted for decades with lead shot) or the quality of that water, but are concerned with the 20' of garden hose that the water you are fixing to boil is going through

I'll admit it's pretty comical. It's really not that many trips when I'm just cooking for my family. Anyway, I found a drinking water safe hose without the help of you clowns. Enjoy your lead soaked crawfish suckers. :)
