You could open a new Tex-Mex restaurant on Constitution, and it won't be doing any damage to Ninfa's.

Some of you people on this board make me quite sick. You are such haters. Y'all banned a friend of mine who made a few comments about one place that they really liked to eat, accused them of owning a place they didn't own, and only pissed them off by having them removed from the board. Haven't you figured out when you piss off 1 person that they in turn tell 20 more people about the experience????
If he is the owner, let him say what he has to say. You people just hate because you never in a million years could put something together like a million dollar restaurant. The person who made an ugly comment about being a judge is probably a government employee with the personality of a rattlesnake.
BTW... a fact from Trends seminar(real estate).... they spent over a million dollars just to buy the land. That isn't even the construction of the place. They have to sell alot of food to keep the bills paid... esp in this economy.
And the owners are the Moody family, Mr. Barras, and some other person. The manager they have coming on board is from Outback, which both of the named owners had affiliations with Outback at some point in the past.
Afreaux... I am beginning to wonder exactly what you do. How did you know about the special grand opening? Are you a food critic for a local publication????????? I have been reading your posts and you sure know alot about plenty of restaurants. Good luck to those you suggested crash the party. It was by ticket only. Waiting to hear how my family enjoyed the food.

Big old guys who like to eat are a dime a dozen in South Louisiana, baby. There is more to that story. You don't know about special grand openings unless you are a friend, family or work the business.

I feel like in South LA especially, everyone knows someone in the business. Or maybe afreaux drove by and saw a bunch of cars there and figured it was before the released opening date so it must be a special occasion.

I was all hyped up to try out the place based on what you guys were saying, but honestly....after those last few posts from Queen whatever, it sounds like the owners are a bunch of elitist snobs. Not the kind of place I want to go, IMO.

Really...trying to argue a point on any message board is like trying to teach calculus to a 2 year old. You are never going to really make any progress, and you will most likely just pull your hair out.
Those Outback guys are all really solid restaurant operators. The place will do well regardless of lack of parking, or being able to get in or out the lot. Both TJ Ribs and Outback have the same type of problems, and both of those restaurants are very successful.
