My wife and I just love this place. To me the food tastes just like what I always though Tex Mex should taste like. The premise is that it's Tex Mex food crossed with Louisiana seasonings.

It's a 5 restaurant, Louisiana-based chain, but we think it's the best Tex Mex in town. Highly recommended.

Sorry, forgot to take pics.

Coyote is the best restaurant in BR, hands down. I have only eaten the Metry location once, but it was divine.

I think the Metairie location is bad compared to the Baton Rouge location. Or what it was like 4-5 years ago before I moved.

It is owned by a Lafayette family. They use the same trainers every time they open a new restaurant so that the quality is maintained. They also take extra steps that most restaurants of their caliber would not take to insure quality. It is obvious that I am partial, but I do like their concept/food.

So the Lafayette location is the original?

I have been both wowed and less than satisfied. I don't have to be wowed every time, but I do want to be satisfied with the meal, at least.

The ceviche is hit or miss.

You obviously haven't had their steak chimichanga with the corn grits and southwestern mashed potatoes as sides. That dish is an orgasmic event for one's tastebuds.

I find my way there every Friday with co-workers because that's where they like to go after work. I think it's a pretty subpar atmosphere and everything I have tasted foodwise has left me disappointed. If you want real Mexican (or even Tex Mex) there are better options just a few minutes away.

That being said, the bartender that serves us is fantastic, he knew my drink order after the first time I went, and he is incredibly observant and always knows when to bring another. A fine young man.

I like Tex Mex better than Mexican, and I like Coyote Blues better than typical Tex Mex. Curious, what places nearby do you think are better?

What Wise said -- Kenner is right there. The usual haunts in Kenner are, in my estimation, superior to Coyote Blues. I might even go to Casa Garcia before Coyote Blues, and that place was just so-so.
