Two sources for kick arse smoked wings. I may get woke.

CCBBQ’s wings in the past have been a weak area for them.

Was up there and saw their place, good for those guys. Have a good buddy who has been in the top 10 in shoulder, bbq sauce a few times. They did well this year.... but were in the same area as Tuffy and Big Bob Gibson’s which coincidentally came out 1,2 in shoulder. Got judged by 2 of the same judges. My guys didn’t have a chance on getting their 10s.

It was my first time and that shite gets intense with the judges coming into your tent and whatnot. The evenings are basically a crazy tailgate with the rib teams taking it to another level.

Funny thing is people on here bust on The Shed all the time and they came out 2nd overall.

Competition Q is different than the Q places serve.

Thank you t00f, I really appreciate it. This was my 2nd year there as a head cook and presenter (12th place last year), and I couldn't be more proud of my team for the help that they provided. I really wanted to bring a world championship back home to Louisiana, but it just wasn't my year. What kills me is that I was in 1st place going into finals.
Also, thank you to the TD members that support CCBBQ. We work hard daily to provide you with the best bbq experience that nola has to offer.

They came in 2nd in the Kingsford Tour of Champions. It's sort of a people's choice competition for the visitors to stop by some of the teams, talk to the pitmasters, try some food, and vote on their favorite.
Brad and the Shed are some great people, and a damn good team. I think they finished 9th in Whole Hog this year.

Congrats to your team! CCBBQ is always on point. Brisket Chili is also phenomenal.

I live around the corner from Blue Oak so I don’t make it out to CCBBQ but I’m always willing to support local businesses w good food and service. NOLA is big enough to support 3 good BBQ restaurants in Blue Oak, CCBBQ and the Joint (LA 31 is too far w these 3 options). I’ll have to come try CC now since I refused to go when Chef Rob was there. I love the fact that y’all are doing well just to spite that arse clown.

It's a shame the garbage they sell at their restaurant.

I make they BBG white sauce a lot. I like it on chicken and my kids put it on scrambled eggs of all things.

The sauce is fine and I make it at home too, but their actual meat is a huge disappointment and I wasn't expecting contest level.

What were you disappointed in? Pulled pork, ribs, chicken or all of the above?

I've never been a fan of their ribs and PP, but the chicken has been on point every time I've been.

ETA: Oh and congrats to Crawfish and crew. Will have to stop by CCBBQ next time in New Orleans.

Damn nice finish CFA

I've unfortunately been to BBG several times, I've never had a pleasant experience with any of their meat. It's a subpar restaurant. It lives thanks to the competition notoriety, sauce, and glory days.

For those who've eaten at both, how would CCBBQ compare to the Houston area joints?

Would like to try CCBBQ sometime if worthwhile.

Over priced, tiny portions, and reheated. Unless in the area not worth it

I didn't get the ribs, but the pulled pork was awful. The chicken was just ok.
