We ate brunch a couple of weekends ago at the Chimes in Covington. I've never had their brunch and what I ate was very good. It was the Seafood Stuffed French Toast. I was wondering if they have the same brunch menu at all the locations or do they vary?

Actually went there today, and I had the eggs ponchartrain. It's basically eggs Benedict wih fried oysters and bacon. Very good. They had that French toast on the menu too.
I was at the one in BR

Chimes brunch is great. I've had the seafood stuff french toast before and it was great. The boudin omelet is my favorite though

I've never had a meal I didn't like for brunch at the Chimes. I will say they don't offer much for the non-egg brunch eater.

I'm not flaming, I'm really not, but cannot understand what the deal is with the Chimes. I have eaten there a few times and never found anything I ordered to even be acceptable. When I'm in Baton Rouge the Chimes is not a destination on my must visit list.

Wow.

Just wow.

What, did you expect the BBQ shrimp to be grilled shrimp covered in BBQ sauce or something?

I mean the Chimes isn't the end all of resturants, but it is pretty damn good. Not many resturants can get by with a policy of not doing resurvations because they know they are better off leaving tables open for certain customers rather than reserving for potential ones.

I remember with some ESPN personalities that were in town for gameday were bitching up a storm because they weren't given special treatment on the reservation front.

I normally go there to drink good beer and get an app or two, but the brunch is really good.

Chimes really isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. it's no cajun/creole restaurant in NOLA, but considering the options in BR, i'd say it's more than adequate.

and the brunch is freaking awesome.

I'll agree that the chimes isn't the best food ever. But their food is pretty damn good. Their raw oysters are the best in town (IMO), and their soups are delicious.
Their specials are really good too.

People don't go to chimes, just for the food, though. Their beer selection alone, is reason enough to go there. Also, it has a great atmosphere.

Their brunch is also really good. Their boudin omelet is my go to, for brunch. Have that with a mimosa/ bloody mary/ sam smith oatmeal stout, and it's a perfect meal.

Interesting bump. Guess you weren't satisfied with your
Chimes East is the SUCK thread. Not sure who pissed in your food over there, but the Chimes aint that bad. If you can't find several things on the Chimes menu that are good...you ain't trying, and they probably pissed in your food for a reason.
It's not fine dining, and they don't try to be. It's a casual hang out spot with better than average bar food. They cook >90% of their food in house, and procure Louisiana products almost exclusively when available. Their a good local company.
