re: Baby Boomer: You're killing our economy

No baby boomers are not. Parents becoming lazy, selfish, over indulgent and wanting everything for themselves kills economies.
From 1810 until 1910 the birthrate in the United States decreased by FIFTY PERCENT.
Don't blame it on the baby boomers, their parents or grandparents. Go back 200 years and blame it on capitalism.

I'm not suffering. I've had my ups and downs but as a whole my life has been pretty good.
But why would I not want to do everything possible to preserve my bloodline and race? In my view not doing so would be cowardly.

I am thinking of becoming prepared to hunker down. I have guns, precious metals, an abode in the country, etc. There are some things that I do not have.
A reliable source of water. I could have someone drill a well and then later use it with a Honda pump. Or I could buy a copper still and use it for distilling water and making moonshine. I'd bet that liquor would be fairly valuable. I know how to raise tobacco, but waiting for it to cure could be problematic.
I am seriously considering going wide open throttle as a doomsday prepper. Even if I never need to be one it could be a lot of fun preparing for when the SHTF.

Any uncirculated CC Morgan attracts top dollar bids. Especially if the owner can prove it's been in the family for a long time and therefore not a recent counterfeit from China.
In 1972 the GSA sold off uncirculated CC Morgan silver dollars. I have several, including an 1879, which is rarest. The coins are all in plastic cases inside blue boxes with GSA provenance certificates. The owner of Scotsman Coin / Auction told me that because it is certifiably from the GSA hoard it adds a grand to the value.

I had a dozen silver dollars from 1900-1910. Gave them to my son 5 years ago. I encouraged him not to sell but to hand it down to grand son.
I have some that belonged to my grandparents and also the two that were in my great grandfather's pocket when he died. They will never be for sale at any price. But collectible coins void of sentimental value don't mean much to me.

Considerably more than the $4,450 it was listed at in my 2014 coin guide. Instead of selling it to them outright I am going to put it in their auction. Whatever it brings I will immediately convert to gold bullion.

No. I have an 1878, 1890 & 1891 CC Morgan.
If you want to sell them then I would recommend contacting Scotsman Coin / Auction in St. Louis.
I shopped my coins to three different dealers and Scotsman Coin / Auction was by far the most honest and professional that I found.

From the GSA hoard? If so then look for an 1879.

Uncirculated 1879 CC silver dollar from the GSA hoard to start with. I inherited it from my father if that matters.

Posted by RhodeIslandRed on 2/2/14 at 8:55 pm
So which one is the greatest? Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll have all coached college national champions and Super Bowl champions. Nick Saban has coached college national champions and was an absolute joke as an NFL coach - one of the worst to ever put on headphones.
Surely that eats on Saban that he is fourth at best. Does he give the Gumps one more season and then give it another try in the NFL?

Serious question.
I have some coins that were inherited. Their value as collectables doesn't mean much to me so I am considering selling them.
Other than inflation what will determine if these coins appreciate in value?
Thanks in advance.

Forget all this talk about barbecue. St. Louis barbecue is second rate at best.
Go for Italian on "The Hill." Everyone used to call it Dago Hill, but had to stop because the Wops didn't like that.
It is hard to go wrong. If you want cheap eats then go to Rigazzi's, Mama's Deli or Gioia's Deli and get the salsiccia. If you want to dial it up a notch then go to Gian-Tony's or Lombardo's. If you want to go wide open throttle then go to Charlie Gitto's, Dominic's, Lorenzo's Trattoria, Tony's or Giovanni's.
ETA: If you have a sweet tooth then by all means visit Piccione Pastry. That is pronounced Pa-CHO-Nee. It is on Delmar in the Loop.
