Can we discuss reheating/warming leftovers?

If already done, just ignore.
I always/usually cook having in mind leftovers for another day.
Lunch or dinner.
I’m not talking about after freezing.
I’m referring to the next day.
Microwave?
Oven?
Stove top?
Depends on food…

Microwave 99.9% of the time. Very, very occasionally on the stovetop.
I'll use the oven to warm pre-made food brought to potluck style parties, I don't think I've ever used it to reheat leftovers.

Air fryer is a game changer for a lot of leftover foods.
And yes, I know an air fryer is just a convection oven.

Almost all of our leftovers are either soup, gumbo, chili or stew and we always do them in the microwave.
If we have left over pizza we put it on a baking stone and heat it up in the oven.

Yes but I’m using it less.
Hence the thread.
I did thick pork chops on the grill last night.
Rapped the two leftovers in aluminum foil (added some butter with leftover at jus)
Put in oven at low heat ….came out awesome
In past would have put them in the micro.

Rule of thumb is to reheat it in the same fashion it cooked.
I.E. fried foods should be reheated hot and fast
Steak should be reheated hot and fast
Gumbo reheat in a pot around medium/low

I prefer the stove when feasible, followed by the oven.
If I'm lazy, hungover and don't really care, then microwave.

Depends on the food.
I rarely use the microwave except for soups or other things that reheat well. I hate microwaved pizza. I reheat it on my baking steel or on the stove in a cast iron skillet or other cast iron type vessel until it's crispy and the cheese is hot.
I refry fried foods all the time. Heat up the grease and drop whatever it is in it for just a minute. It has worked very well for many things, particularly fish and shrimp.
I'll reheat steak in a cast iron skillet pretty high just a minute a side. Same with some other meats depending on what they are or how they were cooked. For some, I use the oven.
I reheat casseroles in the oven, generally. Occasionally, I'll use the microwave depending on what the casserole is.

Air fryer for things like chicken, pork, veggies, or potatoes.
Oven for steak.
I'll microwave stews, soups, pasta, or if my meal is all situated on the same plate and not in individual containers.

At the office it's microwave or eaten cold because that's the only options.
At home, we typically only use the stovetop for soups/stews/sauces and the oven for meats. Fried or anything that needs to get crispy goes in the air fryer. We only use the microwave for things like reheating rice/pasta.

Yes.
I’m using the microwave much less.
That’s why I asked.
In the past I “ruined” some leftovers in the microwave.
Will never do meats again.

Leftover meat is going in the air fryer. Sides are microwave. Meals, obviously stovetop.

depends.
pizza, breaddy stuff, oven or pan
wings/fried chicken......F heating!
gumbo/soup stove and pot
but honestly microwave most things.

For meat, sous vide is unbeatable for leftovers
I reheat pizza on the stove top in a covered pan, works great, just not too high on the heat.

Rarely a microwave, I hate microwaved chicken/fish/seafood and really most any protein. Most often oven or stove top for most foods. Leftover vegetables I'll microwave.

I have a Weber Genesis on my patio.
If it's fried chicken, quiche, pizza, egg rolls etc, I crank that baby up and make it crunchy.
I don't have to heat the house/oven that way. And it's quick.

Either its microwave or its something I like to eat cold like pizza
Aint got time to be fooling with anything else just for leftovers

Fried foods - air fryer
Pizza - oven or pan on stove
Steak - in zip-lock bag in hot water ( too lazy to get out sous vide) to take chill off, then blazing hot pan on stove
Soups - microwave or stove top depending on volume
Pasta - microwave
