When people from out of town say “Cajun”, they really just mean Louisiana food

Just go to The Chimes. Seriously. It isn’t difficult. A bunch of fun people eating good food with good service.

I was going to say Pairann’s.

What is “Cajun” to you and your friend? I don’t know many places serving smothered chicken or the like.

ETA: I’m looking forward to what a Cajun restaurant is in South Louisiana. What do any of them have that makes the “Cajun?”

Head down I-10 West to Pat’s of Henderson and the Atchafalaya Club has live music on weekends.

Soileau's in Opelousas might be the closest thing to “Cajun”

That’s what I’d do.
Boudin balls, etouffee, gumbo. That’s what they are looking for.

BTW, Chime's is owned by the same people who own Parrain's.

Such an over advertised place.

Tante Marie in Breaux Bridge is 100 times better, a shorter drive, friendlier waitstaff, and has live Cajun music on Saturdays and Sundays.

I know I got drug down there for brunch during the summer and was completely underwhelmed. Maybe it was just an off day for them.

Cafe Josephine in Sunset if you are taking a drive.

Agree with this, or Cafe Sydney Mae in Breaux Bridge.

Not Yo Mama's in Livonia (Hwy 190) is 25-30 min from BR and excellent food.
Menu linked above. Been there numerous times , never had a bad meal, and always left full
