Damn, it all looks fantastic! I oohed and ahhed over a number of things. Food porn can be so cruel.

Great post. I keep saying everytime we go to NOLA I'll post pics, but haven't yet. I love Butcher and Commander's Palace. I was disappointed with the fish dish as well, wasn't worth the money, but I'll go back

My bad if this is a dumb question, but what is that on the chicken biscuit?

That kolache looks.......interesting.
How was the texture? I find anything other than a smoked sausage kolache to be pretty disappointing. People go ape shite here in Houston for boudin kolaches-texturally it's just a big bite of mush.

You ate good! That looks like a top 10 meal.
But I have to question something so please don't mistake this comment as an attack against you. If you will please Excuse my directness, wtf is Gulf Fish? It's like the restaurants don't give a damn & don't really care enough to try when they are being deceitful. Am i missing something? Did they discover a new species of fish that I have never heard of? Gulf Fish? I feel insulted that a Chef would be so flippant and dismissive of my intellect to attept to pass off a fish so generically named as not to elicit inquiry of its origin. Gulf Fish ranks right up there next to white fish as an all time inclusive term for "whatever trash fish I'm trying to overcharge you for and pass off as luxurious."
Again, nothing against you. You've already suffered enough...

In many restaurants, you'll see "Gulf fish" on the menu and the waitress will tell you what fresh Gulf fish the restaurant is offering that day. The fish will depend on what fresh fish the restaurant got in.

That is Exhibit A for a stupid rant. The fish is listed as such to allow flexibility to serve what is fresh and available . Good grief. Ask the wait staff what it is...order if you like it ( I'm taking a leap of faith here in assuming you'll know one fish from another).

The bread is amazing! And while the ground meat was different the flavor was excellent, just a change in texture

I haven't been to Commander's Palace. Is a jacket required?

That's what I would call a solid foodie weekend.

Not required but recommended. We went on a Sunday night and would have def been in the minority if you didn't have a jacket on.
