Looks like they are "rebranding" from Bistro Byronz into......
wait for it....
BRASSERIE BYRONZ.
I honestly don't know what the difference is... I haven't been to Byronz in quite a while. Still don't know why they left their old location on Government Street.

Closing for a month during football season sounds rather stupid IMO

Weird...
Don't know what it is, but agree, old location was just much better.

It Paris there are sort of clear and almost hard and fast distinguishing characteristics between the two designations. Here's a link to a decent explanation of their distinctions as I generally understand it: LINK
I'm not sure how that applies in Baton Rouge, though.

BRASSERIE
French for brewery. Maybe they're going more of a pub/bar direction.

Do you honestly think there are people in BR who are saying "eh, not interested in Bistro Byronz I wish it was more of a brasserie..."

The only place I've seen in Louisiana that would probably be close to a Parisian style brasserie would be Luke in New Orleans.

I hope they don't frick with the one in Mandeville. Great menu and atmosphere, and it's always crowded.

The one in Shreveport closed. The one in Willow Grove seems to have a decent following. The food is a little hit and miss for me.

The one in Mandeville is always a solid go to.... agreed they should keep it the same and not screw around, especially since Mandeville isn't exactly teeming with amazing restaurant options.

I don't get the love for that place

It was great when it opened on Government. Very solid food and nice atmosphere. But that was like 16 years ago.

What did you have that was terrible? Just curious.. Over the years I've tried most of the items on the menu and it s all been pretty good.

Good food, but louder inside than a nightclub on an active runway during the Berlin Airlift

Agree.
Ther used to be one in Lafayette, but it's been closed for many years now.
Only ate there a handful of times, but I thought the food was good.
The pot roast dish was very good.

The one on Perkins is nice enough, ok ambiance, good service, but I am always disappointed with the food.

I’ve been a few times to the one on Perkins and the service has always been bad

I have only been to the the Mandeville one for lunches. Very solid food and very nice scenery.
The Northshore provides a nice change of pace from the tattoos and piercing on waitresses/diners in downtown nola. It's just gotten to be disgusting.

Football season isn't some great positive a lot of people think it is for nicer-ish, non sports bar type places. MAYBE some will be busier Friday night and/or Sunday brunch, but Saturdays are absolutely miserable. Best case, it's a wash. Many consider it the slower months, though.

Has anyone been here yet since they changed the name/concept to Brasserie?

Some changes to the food menu but a lot of the old staples. The cocktail menu has much more options and the atmosphere is way better. I’d go back again.
