Anyone have any recommendations?

I know there are a ton of nice restaurants in NO, but just wanted to get a good idea for steakhouses. And any steak/seafood combos would also be nice.

Thanks everyone.

Mr John
Doris

I’ll add Mr johns is really good and consistent....like a Ruth’s Chris on steroids. Doris can be the best steak you’ve ever had or pretty damn good. It won’t be bad, but I’ve found it to not be as consistent.

All depends on what type of experience you're looking for. Chophouse, Doris, Mr. John's and La Boca. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I'll cast my vote for Mr. John's.

Probably get some hate here but the single best steak I have had in NO was at Dickie Brennons.

Have not been back and they may not can repeat it but it is what it is.

This leads to my point, once you pass a certian level it is the individual steak and the only thing they can control is the ambiance.

I had that steak 1 time. then the next time, had to send the steak back a couple of times then they refunded my money. figured it was maybe a bad day and tried again and it wasnt good again. so I just wont go back again.

I have been to Mr. Johns and it was legit.

That.

Their food 10 years ago was always good. It is not what it used to be, not even close.

Have not been that impressed the last few times I’ve been though.

Curious, why no love for Emeril’s Delmonico on this board.

The best steak I’ve had in NOLA was at Delmonico. It was much more than that though. Three course plus dessert to those folks means three meals plus all the desserts they have. May put you in a coma.

Nah

The cooking method is almost as important as the steak. Some places will serve you a big mush of steak, while a place like Mr John’s put the best crust on a steak in the city while maintaining internal temp
