You can't go wrong with many brands from Lafayette area.
Best Stop
Karchner's
Don's
Billy's
NuNu's
Poche's
Rod's in Church Point
Ardoins in Ville Platte
Teet's in VP
Kelly's in Opelousas (They smoke my sausage when I am in the USA and make sausage)
etc.
Then, for fresh sausage, many medium size supermarkets make some bad arse sausage. Like Russell's in Arnaudville, Champagne's in Oil Center or even in Leonville (Different family).
Big box Supermarkets like Super 1. Go to the one on I-49 in Carencro, and their fresh pork sausage is awesome! Because they have a good ole coonass making sausage there.
Anyone in that business here? I have been working on a plan of action (POA) for this business, not just in the US but on a Global Scale! The tastings thus far in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Egypt, and other places have been unreal.

They sell Lejuenes in Lafayette at a car parts place off Johnston. It’s the best sausage around. We love it. 196 Mt Vernon is the address for the one in Lafayette. Lafayette Performance and Truck.
Go see Mr. Danny. I'll never buy smoked sausage anywhere else!!

Try LA Blues in Cecilia about a mile north of the Henderson exit. It's a new meat market but they have great stuff and it isn't expensive.

Too many high recs and it's available at an auto decor shop in Lafayette on Mt Vernon. I'll be going by tomorrow to pick some up.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll go get some Lejeune's sausage from behind the auto parts store in Lafayette.

This is the correct answer. Might be the greatest sausage on the planet.

“The Boss” in Port Barre? The best I’ve found.

I've been getting best stop andouille from Rouses - best I've found at the grocery store. I find it tastes better than my previous favorite, Rabideauxs

Bump! My coworker’s mom and dad own Lejeune’s and she just got her mom to put me together a bag of Tasso and a bag of pure pork blend. I’m ready to go home right now and eat it. I’m doing intermittent fasting so this isn’t helping haha.
Btw, they are getting older and may be closing the operation in the coming years, so get it while ya can. It would be awesome to buy a joint like that and keep it going, even if under a different name.
The Tasso is pretty.

My collage roommate’s grandparents owned a place in a small swla town and closed it down whenever they got too old to run it and have since passed. I often think about having their recipes and wish the timing was different and finances would have allowed me to buy it from them. I absolutely love the idea of having a smaller boutique type meat market/smoke house with daily plate lunches. I just don’t see how they can sustain themselves in the area.

Where is he located?
And for those who've had both, how does Teets compare to Lejeune's?

It would be a travesty if they close. I haven’t had in several years, but when I lived in Lafayette it was a monthly trip. They are the best I’ve ever had. I hope someone figures out how to keep it going.
