Was going to fry some shrimp tonight. I always get great advice on this board. I would love to hear some feedback on which shrimp fry you guys prefer.

milk wash and seasoned flour, lightly dusted.

I want to taste the shrimp, not just the breading.

I make my own...

1/2 cup corn flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Mis the seasonings together & reserve 1 tablespoon of seasoning per pound of shrimp. Blend the rest of the seasoning with the cornmeal & corn flour. Dredge, shake, fry, & enjoy!

You're going to get alot of pro chefs on here tell you about their own mix. And I sometimes mix up my own combo as well.

But if you're looking for a packaged fry mix to keep it simple and easy, Louisiana Products Shrimp Fry is pretty good. I like to add cayenne pepper into it.

I am ready for the downvotes.

I go straight damp shrimp into Louisiana blue box. Perfect every time. Seasoned, crispy, batter is fine.

Baw, you’re frying shrimp not building the space shuttle. Louisiana blue bags or zats seasoned,350° oil I use an egg some water and some creole seasoning in the wash but anything else is kind of good matter fact just water is probably kind of good ...season them with a little Tonys when they come out a grease drain on a wire rack. Done.... next

Whip up a couple of eggs.
Dip the shrimp in the egg wash.
Press into panko bread crumbs.
Deep fry in 340° peanut oil until they start to float. Maybe 4 mins.

Remove shrimp to drain on brown paper sack. Dust with Tony’s and squeeze some lemon on.

Dip in water, seasoned flour, quick dip in water again, back in flour and rub with fingers to make the flaky bits. Fry.

You will never use another method again.

If you like a flaky crust mix the following:
1. 2 eggs
2. 1/4 cup Vinegar
3. 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
4. Add seasoning to your liking
5. Let shrimp soak for 3-5 minutes
6. Coat shrimp well with All Purpose Flour
7. Fry for 5-7 minutes.
