good quality

definitely debatable

Well that's fair and that's why I didn't say "great" quality. As a stand alone brand for grilling or what not, I won't eat but in a boil, it's perfect.

I'm not looking for "quality" sausage necessarily for a boil. I'd rather have a quality sausage on the grill.

Manda is awesome in a boil...though it can be very greasy, leaving a sheen on top of the water depending on how much you put in.

i prefer grilled sausage but do enjoy the flavor of sausage in a good boil. If you think it makes the boil greasy then you must be using some shitty sausage

Rabideaux is the best quality sausage i the state imo. I have tried from all over and its not really close to me. Honestly 2nd would be market basket smokehouse then some of the specialty meat places in laffy area.

so my answer would be rabideaux smoked green onion or market basket green onion and garlic.

Would you put shitty sausage in a gumbo?

No.

Same goes here - Anything you put in the water is seasoning your food.

Using cheap, nasty shite is affecting your taste.

I use Savoie's big box.

You should see the downvotes when you post a proven fact that they don’t want to agree with.

Veron’s is what a good many of the guys competing in jambalaya cookoffs use, and all I use in my big batches. Not opposed to using it in a boil, but it doesn’t make a big difference, even Manda is ok. Haven’t tried the Lil Smokies, that’ll be an add next boil.

frick the Manda Haters They're usually a little light in the loafers. Not saying it’s the best but it’s solid and good.

I have to agree. My entire life, Manda has been loved by everyone. I’ve never met anyone who talked bad about it until I read this board.

It’s like some people just want to be different and act like they are against the big popular company because they know better than you. Like they found a secret sausage that’s so much better and they are cooler because they don’t conform to the norm.

I’m always in favor of eating what you like and if you like another brand, then great. But why hate on them? That’s what I don’t understand. Manda is part of Louisiana whether you want to admit it or not. No other louisiana processor comes close to the amount they process. They are a homegrown local company succeeding.

Manda is clown shoes and comes by it's derision honestly. City folk in BR are about the only folks who defend that trash.

There you go… so Baton Rouge people don’t know anything good and some baw living outside of BR is the only person who knows good food?

So the guy living in New Roads has better taste than they guy living in Baton Rouge?

The guy in Amite knows better cuisine than the guy in BR?
