I'm aware. Who cares?
Do you like their food or not? To me, they do what they do well. I really like it. That's all I care about.
I also like Stein's. I like Blue Oak. I like Cochon Butcher.

Cochon Butcher hasn't been as good as it used to be the last few times ive been.

Plenty people like TW, don’t fault them. I’d probably opt for several others including St. James Cheese before TW.

I tried this place when they first opened and loved both things I tried (chicken fried steak sandwich & meatloaf sandwich). I thought I understood the hype but it seems like they have taken both those things off the menu and I’m not seeing anything new I’d like to try. Did they switch up their menu after they got all that press?

Their menu has been pretty much the same for awhile, I think. I’ll defer to others who go there more. Lamb roti’witch was the best I had there.

Damn. I haven’t been to St James in a long time. I need to go now

Well, I don’t see anything wrong with them reposting someone else singing their praises on social media. Lots of places do that. Unless, you’re referencing something other than the image in the OP.

It’s good, but had a pig Mac at butcher Saturday and that was fantastic. Gf had the bacon melt which was also great

Probably 50/50.
Better restaurants have closed while TaTW stayed open. Guess the other places should have paid for the awards and marketing. Flame the award givers and distract from the actual food with hype.

There is some sandwich shop on Magazine just a block from the French Quarter that makes just wonderful sandwichs. I got a portobello poboy there recently with Cajun fries and they were sublime.
And no, the place wasn't called Tujaques.

I went, wasn't impressed. All the shite they put in it fell out. Probably not going back. Overpriced and over-hyped. I'm not a sandwich guy though.

The bologna sandwich from Barrel Proof is better. It's prepared very similarly, but I prefer theirs.

If you separate sandwiches from Poboys (which I do)
I take Turkey and the Wolf over anywhere.
The one time I’ve been to steins they burnt my Reuben or they just serve the corn beef cooked to the point of being crunchy. Intentional or not, not good.
