Have them press it with the pepperoncinis on it. It's incredible.

I have a confession. I lived in BR for five years and never had Inga’s.

I heard the owner Grant Cannatella is a force of nature when it comes to cooking. I had to see for myself. Cannatella’s sandwiches are clearly the BEST in Baton Rouge! The meatball po boy is crazy good. What’s great is you can buy all the meatballs you want in the frozen section of their grocery. Porchetta Pete sandwich is the most unique pork sandwich I’ve ever tasted. Last but not least the roast beef sandwich is my favorite. Go there and check it out for yourself. Just a tip, ask for the sandwich to be put in the panini press. GEAUX Grant!

Any word on if George’s will open back up? Went last night and it was still closed.

Best sandwich in BR used to be Chelsea's Grilled Cheese. RIP. But, Anthony's, Pocorello's and Maxwell's are favs still open. Inga's was solid when I was at LSU, just haven't been there in a while.

I've lived in BR for 35 years, moved from NO area, the first BR poboy I had was a meatball from Pokie, I thought "people told me BR poboys sucked, this is pretty damn good". Of course, I wondered what crawled up the old man arse and bit him, but being from NO, I've learned to accept surly service as kind of a side dish.

I learned quickly the Pokie was one of the few to use real Leidenheimer bread, the majority used this big soft hot dog bun and called it a poboy, pure fraud.

Because of dietary restrictions I seldom eat bread, however here is my list, price is not a factor, just quality (BTW seafood poboys are a different category):

Rocco's
Pocorello's
Anthony's
Inga

I'm sure there are other great sandwiches in BR, and since that first poboy, Pokie has become a good friend.

Yes! I was trying to remember. Haha. Sorry to derail.

I liked their sandwiches but they were on the small side.

I also had never tried Rocco's until a couple of weeks ago. I went based on the rec from this board and their roast beef was awesome. I'll definitely be back. Reminded me a lot of Parkway or R&O.

There are bunch of sandwiches I really enjoy.

Georges Roast beef
Anthonys Italian
Pocorellos Meat Ball
Jeds Cuban
Jersey Mikes chipotle cheesesteak
Willys southwest chicken on jalapeno sourdough

Those are just the ones I can think of right now... All sandwiches have there place..... and its in my belly.
