I agree with the usuals y’all are throwing out. Brooklyn Bomber on a bagel at New York Bagel hits pretty good too. Especially location on Jefferson.

I know technically right outside of BR, but John Michael’s Good Eats makes some good sandwiches!

Inga's
Anthony's
Pocorello's

depending on what part of the city I am in.

PS: Inga used to work at the Blimpies near Murphy's Bar which has been torn down. She is Korean and uses a Korean marinade for her steak sandwich, which is very good but was better at Blimpies.

Anthony's has the best muff in the state of LA.

I am still looking for a roast beef poboy in BR that rivals those in NO.

Jed’s has one that’s pretty close, if not as good as. They just need to work on being consistent though. I’ve have hit and miss, with admittedly more hits than misses, but it’s still a work in progress. Odds are though, you’ve got a better chance of getting a hit there than many other similar places. They have the want.

I've had Jed's and it was solid. Give Jasmine's a shot if you haven't had it. I think it's very good as well. I never get that sandwich to go though. It's a sloppy mess by the time you get home with it.

I was always a fan of New York Bagel for both breakfast and lunch when I lived in BR. Brooklyn Bomber on Asiago was my go-to!

Does anyone know if Georges at the Perkins Overpass is permanently closed or will it reopen? I know the owner, Smokey Bourgeois, died months ago but I thought someone bought the 3 locations. The Highland and Jones Creek locations are open.

Georges at the overpass was my favorite of the three.

Yes they do, and living in SE BR they are closer than a lot of places listed. Another I would add is Philly Me Up.

Italian Lover is the GOAT sammich in BR
BUT, their meatball poboy just isn't good

I know a lot of people who would disagree about that meatball poboy.

Count me as one who would agree. I thought Anthony's meatball po-boy was meh.

After living in Baton Rouge since 2001, this thread inspired me to finally go to Anthony's.

The muffuletta was damn good and the pasta salad was some of the best I've had.

I'll be back for sure. Loved the deli and all the selection they had.

I'm wanting to try their Italian beef one next. Glad to hear it is good.
