Best Meal Of Your Life?

Slow Thursday evening at the house and thought this topic could help pass the time.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had so far and why? Could be a Michelin Star dinner, a hole in the wall place, or even something your grandmother made you growing up. But if you had to pick one meal as your all time favorite, what would it be?

Bar Boulud, a couple of months before we got married. A friend had connections there and she took is there. We sat outside for five hours, drinks and food just kept coming out.
One of the nicest experiences I have ever had.
Many trips home from college, my mother's jambalaya.
Countless meals at Silver Moon in BR

First one that comes to mind is The Painted Lady outside of Portland a few years ago.

There was this burger from a joint in Jacksonville, I paid like $25 for it and I was drunk but I swear it was the best burger I ever had. Even the S/O said I told her 50 times at least

Best experience was 5 hours at The French Laundry.
Best bite of food is tough....will edit when I narrow it down.

Living in Nola with the best seafood in the world skews my opinion when out of town so on a slow Thursday I have no specific answer.

The single best soup to nuts dining experience was lunch at Carme Ruscadella’s St. Pau. Everything about it from a leisurely metro ride along the Mediterranean coast to the lunch to a wacky ride home on a bus just made for a great memory.
Others in top 10 or so
French Laundry
Dishoom
Many a Galatoire’s Friday
Gumbo z’herbes at Dookys on Holy Thursday
Making the turn at La Petite Grocery
A quick lunch at Canard in Portland
Husk Charleston
The River Cafe
L’atelier de Joel Robouchon
Jamon, oysters, and lots of beer and wine at Mercado San Miguel in Madrid.
Hell that’s a tough question. Sometimes even the worst meals from a food perspective are amazing for story value.

There's a bunch that I still think of to this day.
Smoked Oyster Alfredo...Brindisi, Italy
Sauerbraten and Spätzle...Berlin
Lechon...Angeles City, Philippines
Pepperoni and sausage pizza from Moe's New York style pizza...Biloxi, Mississippi
If I had to choose it would be the Korean Barbecue I had in Gwangju Korea that featured Hanwoo beef.
That was the best beef I've ever eaten, really wish we could get it here.

Went for a long, wine and Fernet soaked lunch two years ago. Then ended up in the British Museum staring at the Rosetta Stone, the Elgin Marbles, and some other antiquities before spending rest of afternoon/evening at The Ships Tavern, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, the Blackfriars, and another pub or two.
Hell of a day.

The second best meal of my life was three weeks ago at Guy Savoy in Paris. It was a four hour lunch with wine parings. We had three seafood courses, their famous artichoke and truffle soup, Bresse chicken, cheese plates and a parade of desserts among several other things....... The best meal I have ever had was 10 years ago at the same restaurant (original location). Similar lineup except the meat course was a veal roast for twwo. Each course was paired with top notch Champagne and French white and red wines. Incredible place. I would go back to Paris just to go there.

This will probably be a different answer than most people will give.
I had a friend growing up who’s grandma was from Sicily.
Sunday dinners at her house were spectacular in general. On special occasions she made a home made spaghetti and meatballs that was amazing. She made the whole thing from scratch, I’m talking homemade pasta and sauce made from Roma tomatoes from there garden. It was out of this world good. Sadly the little old lady refused to tell anybody her recipe and took it to her grave.

We just recently visited Napa and ate at Morimoto where we had A-5 Wagyu from Japan. It was delicious!
Also had a meal at Nopa in San Francisco and has two really great pasta dishes.
The dumplings at Din Tai Fung in Seattle are excellent as well!
