Wineries are good as is the wine. Is it high end Napa wines? No. Mainly because most of the wineries are getting their grapes from the high planes near Lubbock. The constant fluctuation in Texas weather stresses the grape for a unique taste.

I enjoy wines from the following:
Grape Creek
Signor
Ab Astris
Hilmy

Signor has a very pretty property. Ab Astris is tucked further back and a lawn chair in the yard type place that’s serene. Grape Creek has a nice courtyard and at times will have someone playing live music. Hilmy is smaller and relaxed. Very good Tempranillo there.

Food options we enjoy:
Vaudeville
Hondo’s for the live music
I believe it’s Becker that has this great lavender honey for cheese.

There’s several breweries as well as distilleries now. It’s a fun trip touring the wineries and the walking around town. Enjoy.
Rangers
Texas Star
Cowboy

Tribute is a fun course. Open with rolling hills like you’re at the open.

We do a yearly golf trip at sort of obscure places with some great destinations mixed in.

Myrtle was cancelled this year. :wah:

Did Naples last year. Tiburon, Old Corkscrew, Raptor Bay, Fiddlers Creek. Excellent courses and was a ton of fun. Relatively easy to get in and out and find a decent price Air BnB.

Played Pebble this year. Unreal. You need a caddie because I would have read breaks on the green completely opposite of where they told me to aim. What a course. Great ones nearby with Spanish, Poppy, and Spyglass.

Headed to Streamsong at end of Oct and will report back.

re: Thoughts on Watercolor Inn and area

Went last month. Pearl was great for a cocktail. Food at Cafe 30A and Pescado were excellent. Amavida coffee shop at SeaSide was nice as well as Black Bear Bread Co near Grayton. We enjoyed riding bikes from Watercolor to BBB Co.

FOOW was very family oriented and the food was average. Did lunches there out of convenience. There’s a new Asian fusion restaurant in SeaSide that was good.

Wine bar across the street was a good for a drink and a charcuterie board.

Enjoy yourself. Nothing like the waves, a book, and some tequila.

BSI. Listen to the Grella and Alan Gordon episodes. You’ll be rolling. :usa:
Kirby59 I did as well. The company that does my filings said the IRS is incredibly backed up due to COVID. Spoke with a rep on the phone who said to mail in signed papers copy. Company said they already did that. Basically said just to be patient and wait.

First timer here heading there this week. Recommendations for food/drink/activities?
Nikka From The Barrell tonight. Cheers!
Great stuff WacoTiger. Looking forward to getting back out there. Will have to visit Lewis as well as Quintessa.

Have you guys heard of Mattiasson? I hear their wines are excellent as well. Thanks for the summary!

Great bourbon choice on the HW!
Beautiful. Homegrown or locally farmed tomatoes should be on everyone’s list. Taste will make you never buy store bought shipped tomatoes again.
Bring a bottle of bourbon to take a shot of and leave in the “clubhouse”. Enjoy it!
Don’t sit there and kick the ball back and forth. He should dribble. Dribble a lot. No need to pass at this age. It’s about the ball at his feet and manipulation with both feet.

If you hear a parent yelling to pass at a game look at your kid and point to that parent having already had the convo that the ones you point to are the idiots.

When he’s about 6/7 foster him playing pickup with other kids with no parents/coaches. Drop him off to play while you go for a jog or hit your 58* or talk to Jaxson’s mom.

Try to teach courage in attacking defenders and why he should win the ball back immediately when he loses it.

Tiburon - Beautiful course in great shape.
Old Corkscrew - Solid course with some wildlife you’ll run into!
Fiddlers Creek - Difficult!
Raptor Bay - Very enjoyable.

Tiburon and OC were top two on that trip.
