Was my least favorite on my most recent bbq run. Went to the back and saw the smokers and turned me off more.

I don’t get to go to the Carolina spots because it’s not in my sales territory. I would love to try their offerings though. Pulled pork greater than brisket. I suppose if that’s what you like but for me I like both. I’ve eaten at Bodacious on Mobberly and liked it. I forgot about that place. There is another BBQ place in Tyler, can’t remember the name, but it’s pretty good too.

Since you are in my neck of the woods, have you tried Papa Bucks in Metter?
Forgot to put it on my list.

Ordered and tried his pork Dalmatian rub and thought it was actually pretty good. Was in Fort Worth meeting a guy from Cali buying my smoker and saw he was advertising Berkshire pork steaks. They sold them all before they even opened, but all of the food was pretty meh. The Chipotle Mac and Cheese was the best to me. Brisket I had didn’t have much seasoning, and he know he claims to have wagyu. I just remember leaving there wishing I had went back to Panther City for lunch like I did breakfast.
Found a pic of the spread I got for just myself to sample everything while I was there. I usually eat, and if I enjoy it buy a t-shirt after. Left without a t-shirt that day lol. I’m definitely no professional photographer, but I’ve heard the guys from Tales From the Pits say they have had awesome food from people who take crappy pictures, and average food from amazing photos.

Hard to select just one "best." In my top tier for just overall good:
Corkscrew BBQ, Old Spring, TX
Terry Black's BBQ, Austin, TX
Pecan Lodge, Deep Ellum (Dallas), TX (note: Deep Ellum is mentioned in the Charlie Daniels song, "Trudy")
Roegels BBQ, Voss Rd, Houston, TX
The Pit Room, Richmond Rd, Houston, TX
La Barbecue, Austin, TX
Truth BBQ, Houston, TX
Brett's BBQ Shop, Katy, TX
Hutchins BBQ, McKinney, TX
By Category
Best brisket - La Barbecue, Austin, TX and Killens BBQ, Pearland, TX
Best pork ribs - Terry Black's and Roegels
Best sausage - Brett's BBQ Shop, Katy, TX
Have also eaten at:
All three Lockhart, TX joints (Smitty's, Kreuz Market, and Blacks)
Black's BBQ, New Braunfels, TX
City Market, Luling, TX
Cooper's BBQ, New Braunfels, TX and Katy, TX
Mickelwait's, Austin, TX
Brisket House, Houston, TX
Louis Mueller's BBQ, Taylor, TX
Hinze's BBQ, Wharton, TX
Pinkerton's, Houston, TX
Joel's BBQ, Flatonia, TX
Tin Roof BBQ, Atascocita, TX
John Lewis, Charleston, SC
Swig-n-Swine, Charleston, SC
Dreamland, BBQ, Huntsville, AL
Big Bob's Gibson, Decatur, AL
And for those who think brisket and beef ribs aren't BBQ, may you eat pulled pork frequently at Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, AL. He wins championships! Haha.

We ate at Big Bob’s today; we’re on a road trip, and didn’t care for the white sauce. We got a combo platter; chicken, turkey & brisket. The wife liked the turkey; the chicken & brisket were a little dry. The sides were good.
It was crowded at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon.

You went to the wrong place in Charleston for that kind of neo-bbq. They’re more concerned with being hip than cranking out great food.
Next time give Home Team in West Ashley a shot. Best smoked wings I’ve ever had.
When they first opened they had this grilled sandwich on jalapeño bread with rib meat and pimento cheese that I still dream about.

These are places I will go out of my way to eat at again if I get the chance.
You won't get the chance with that one since they closed last year. I liked their chicken with white sauce, but never had their ribs. Pity...

This. I’ve also been to the other 2 famous spots in Lockhart and Kreuz was easily better.

Would love to hit up some of the I-20 corridor joints but not sure when that'll happen.
For now, hoping to get up early one Saturday and visit Snows. And there are at least a half-dozen reputable Houston area joints I've yet to eat at (Feges, Tejas Chocolate & BBQ, Harlem Road, Reveille, and Brooks, and a revisit to Daddy Duncan's).
The # of great BBQ joints in Houston has exploded in the last decade.

For me, Snow's (for which I waited in line for almost 5 hours) was a close second to my fave, Corkscrew in Sping TX.

Tyler's BBQ in Amarillo, TX still has my favorite brisket
Tom's Ribs in West Palm Beach was my favorite - I believe they closed down once the main owners passed on but it was absolutely great.
