La Lagniappe.
Trend is broken. I find Jacques-Imos too heavy, LA Lapniappe is one of BR's best. Jacquemo's not even in top 40 in NO IMO.

this is a tough one...but I'll have to go with
La Lagniappe....
I do enjoy both, but the menu is better at LAL, IMO

My Vote goes to: Louisiana Lagniappe
Again, I agree with El Tigre! Jacques Imo's has seriously gone down hill since Austin Leslie left us (may he rest in peace)! If you go there around 9 at night, you are bound to run into the very drunk & very unpleasant owner, Jacques Leonardi (Jack).
Hey El Tigre, if you go to the River Terrace at the Shaw Center, there is an Awesome Black & White Photo of the late, great Austin Leslie! I gotta find me a copy or steal it!

if you asked me this 5 years ago i would say Jacques-Imo's without a doubt...but since that time it seems like LA Lagniappe has improved, while Jacques Imo's has taken a dive in quality and a hike in price. At this point Jacques-Imo's is a tourist trap or "urban excursion" for northshore or metairie yuppies. Also, since Austin left us the fried chicken is sorely lacking.

exactly. People seem to think that the "chef" is what makes a restaurant, but every great chef will admit that without their strong respected cook or sous chef running the line that their place will suffer. Losing Austin Leslie is bigger than people realize.

La. Lagniappe and by a mile.
I've been to both, and La Lagniappe wins this one easily. I'd like to know how many folks that have been to each restaurant more than a time or two are voting for Jacques, because this one isn't even close to being close.
