There’s a big difference in that and actively cheering for Covid restrictions from the sidelines. I don’t take pleasure in any business closing but can’t say I feel sorry for her

Cowbell didn’t renew their lease that was up during covid. Probably smart. Word is the street is that they are shopping new spaces

That's the answer to this question. They committed suicide over covid.
Not being mean. They just shut the doors one day and let everyone go. They never did to go or anything.
I'm shocked Tru is still going. I don't know anyone who's been there in over 5 years.

Get you a new plate. New plate clean slate as far as offering tickets and boot list.
Just get sum be vanity plate. Your high school, lsu, dolphins, share the road, etc

I don’t remember the name of the restaurant, but wasn’t there the one on Carrollton who stated “if you vote for Trump, I don’t want your business” and “if you don’t support BLM, stay away”. They even had the notes plastered on their windows.

Carrollton Markett didn’t close because they went woke. The guy just quit. He comes from money though, I’m fairly certain.

I really don’t wish ill on the place or Polly. I used to love AP. I met my wife there, in fact. The last time I went (maybe a year ago), I was rather loudly dressed down for not wearing a mask during my trip from the table to the bathroom, and that was my “frick this place” moment.

Avenue pub has been going downhill for years. I don’t know the owner but the bartenders were always pretentious. This was happening a year + before covid. Owner was doing money raising auctions of her beer to fund things at the bar..Reno’s and fundraisers….We supported…even though she’s a raging liberal, sorry Polly, no offense. Lol
They had some good offerings, but I too believe, as one poster stated, the craft breweries were her downfall. I’d rather of spend my money at All Relation around the corner and drink beer in the parking lot. Service with a smile always. No pretentiousness. RIP All Relation
As for 504, it’s been on a downturn for a while, they cleaned out the stout section & the cooler has been bare for weeks. Saw that coming. The owner (bearded dude)is a bit of a dickk but love the other guys. Sad to see it food but will be supporting Elios and grocery stores uptown.
The wagons gonna roll.

Im retiring. The care my mom has needed over the last 18 months has been getting increasingly unmangeable with my responsibilites at the Pub. My daughter lives in the UK and my son will likely be moving to Europe as well. The deadline I've set is June 1st 2023 but I'd be happy to bow out before that if the eventual buyers want to take over earlier. One of my dearest and best friends in the industry had is having his 70th birthday party this week at Drie Fonteinen and of course I'm not going. Im at the stage in my life where I want to be able to do those things as well as give my mom the care she needs. The last 15 years have been incredible and I loved almost every minute of it ( hurricanes and COVID excepted of course) but I'm ready to give the responsiblites up to someone else!

Just to Clarify:
I was on the short lived Governors Hospitality Task Force for reopening. We dicusssed and made recommendations to the Governors for phased reopening. Our committee ended up recommending a near total opening, which the Governor followed through with and then pulled back once Delta hit.
I was also in the the City's Business Leaders group. This group was primarily an information trading group. We were able to get advance notice of changes in mandates and received weekly Health Dept updates with the understanding that we would share this information to others in the city. There were occasions when they would find a way to accomodate our advice but most of the time the closure and mandate decisions were presented to us as a Fait Accomplie. Most of our accomplishments in this group related to Unemployment, Testing and vaccine planning, emerguncy aid for those in dire need, grant and federal aid programs etc.

Indeed, it was a paradise. No other brewery I have ever visited has approached its equal. Plus, it had the CK Hot Shoppe right around the corner, another sad casualty of Latoya’s campaign to destroy small businesses under the guise of Covid.
Those All Relation guys were smart getting out when they did. I pulled up at the brewery right before closing time on the last day they were open and literally bought the final beers they had for sale. They were truly treasured.
As for the Avenue, I liked it well enough for what it was. It wasn’t my favorite bar in New Orleans pre-Covid, but it was up there. I hope it continues going forward with an owner who cares about it. If I could afford it, I would buy the bar in a heartbeat. Granted, I said the same thing about Liuzza’s.

Yeah saw that article this morning.
From what I read, I am excited about it.
The food sounds good, and it sounds like they are doing things to turn it into a profitable business and modernize a bit.
